It is possible to do a backup of user data and application settings in a few clicks starting from MultiCharts 11 Beta 1 version. If you want to transfer data to a new PC, you can make a backup of data on your current PC and restore data on your new PC. These two new applications (Backup and Restore Applications) can be used for importing data into a different MultiCharts product or to save a backup to avoid data loss.

To launch Data Backup, it’s necessary to close MultiCharts and make sure no MultiCharts processes are running in Task Manager.

  1. Click Windows Start button
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Select your MultiCharts version
  4. Click Backup
Note: In case MultiCharts or any MultiCharts applications are running when you start Backup you will see the following alert message: MultiCharts Backup cannot be started now as MultiCharts processes are currently running. Please close all MultiCharts processes and restart the MultiCharts Backup.
Note 2: When MultiCharts Backup is launched alert message “Read-Only studies will not be backed up” appears, it means that studies in. sef format are not backed up.
