Signal calculation values are often compared to the indicator plot using the same function. In order to have relevant results for comparison you need to follow this simple guide to make indicator and signal calculation results the same.

Make sure signal and indicator have the same settings:

  1. First of all base the calculation of the studies on the same amount of bars.

Go to Format tab->Strategy Properties->Properties tab->Maximum number of bars study will reference. The default value is 50 bars. Set the same value for the indicator in:Format tab->Studies->Format «Study name»->Properties->User specified.

  1. If the signal is calculated tick by tick (IOG is enabled in Format tab->Signals->Format «Signal name»-> Properties->Enable Intra-Bar Order generation), enable the option «Update on every tick» for the indicator in Format tab->Studies->Format «Study name»->Properties.
  2. «Real-time history matching» should be enabled/disabled (upon necessity) for both signal and indicator:

Format tab->Signals->Format «Signal name»-> Properties Format tab->Studies->Format «Study name»->Properties

Note:Indicator and signal should be based on the corresponding data series and have the same input values.

If indicator and signal settings are the same - the calculation results should be equal.
