To Set up LMAX data feed connection:

  1. In the QuoteManager main menu select Tools and then click Data Sources.
  2. Select LMAX in the list of all supported data vendors and click the Settings button.
  3. In the opened up window:
  • Select type of connection: demo / real.
According to your type of connection URL is set up automatically.
  • Enter Login and Password.
  • Cache downloaded quote files - this option enables storing the downloaded data on your hard drive. When this feature is enabled - upon reloading data on a chart it will be loaded from the cached files, instead of the data provider historical data servers.
  • Use heartbeats for connection loss detection - heartbeats are utilized for detecting connection loss and reconnecting. If heartbeats are not being received from the server - reconnect is done.
  • Build trade ticks from ask ticks and bid ticks - when this option is enabled, quote field "Trade" includes both Bid and Ask prices which makes the Volume Profile feature usable for Forex symbols. Trade field records a new tick even if only the Ask price/volume has changed and does not wait for the Bid to change either price or volume. When the option is disabled - Quote Field "Trade" plots "Bid" data.

To add an instrument from data source, see Adding Symbol(s) to Symbol List.

Also, make sure that you set up LMAX broker profile for trading and LMAX broker plug-in for auto-trading.

Troubleshooting

LMAX Global upgraded the minimum encryption levels of services to version TLS 1.2 and/or TLS 1.3. We have added the required modifications for LMAX connection in MultiCharts64 Version 14.0 Release 8 (Build 24673). Please make sure you’re using Release 8 or higher to avoid possible issues.
