Quandl is a built-in data source, which provides end-of-day historical data for more than 9 million symbols. The connection is free and requires no credentials.

Note: Symbols without OHLCV data are not supported. No data will be displayed for them.

To set up Quandl data feed connection

1. In the QuoteManager main menu select Tools and then click Data Sources, highlight Quandl in the list of all supported data vendors and click the Settings button. The Quandl Settings window is opened.
2. Main tab:
Connectivity section
  • Check Premium calls if you own a Quandl Premium account to get access to more instruments.
Cache section
  • In Update exchange list every N days choose the desired frequency to request updates for the exchange list from the Quandl server (365 days is set by default)
  • In Update symbol list every N days choose the desired frequency to request updates for the symbol list from the Quandl server (7 days is set by default)
Note: During the exchange and symbol updates large files (of several GBs weight) are downloaded and utilized for symbol search. Therefore, large update intervals are recommended.
3. Exchanges tab:
  • Use the dropdown list under Category tab to map the Exchange to the security type that is usually traded there.
Note: The category does not appear in the symbol lookup window until it is selected on this tab.
  • Set Price Scale / Point Value / Min Movement for the exchange in the corresponding columns. More information regarding these properties can be found here
