Re: Workspaces DISAPPEARED during update to 9.0.11210.400.
Dave - Thanks for the apology. I appreciate that. A hard way to learn a lesson, but thanks. As you mentioned, a note warning against putting custom .wsp, .ple, etc files into the TS Support folders could help others from experiencing what I did. If there is no recommended path, perhaps a "many users...

Re: Workspaces DISAPPEARED during update to 9.0.11210.400.
I appreciate your help guys. Thanks for the tip sptrader. I checked and I am already searching hidden folders and files. I'm running win8, which is crap, so the procedure is a little different, but I got it. I just restored back to an even earlier restore point, so that makes the most recent two poi...

Re: Workspaces DISAPPEARED during update to 9.0.11210.400.
Thanks for the reply TJ. I've already tried that. I know exactly where they were. And they are gone now. As far as a non-standard place, I sought guidance for this when I first bought by lifetime license and got what seemed a unsatisfactory answer. But I went with it, since it was from Henry. Here i...

Workspaces DISAPPEARED during update to 9.0.11210.400.
I updated to MC 9.0.11210.400 last night and POOF, my custom workspaces have disappeared! I have to get them back. This represents HUNDREDS OF HOURS of developmental work. I'm on Windows 8. Once the updated MC could no longer find them, I ran a system restore, which undid the update. They are still ...

Re: Backtesting Forex pairs -help'
Thanks Alex! I think I'm off to a start now. I am using IQFeed data strictly for development right now, and am not tied to a broker, so I don't think that the autotrading tab is relevant right now. Honestly, I am on a 3 month lease with MC to see whether I want to abandon TS, close my account, and u...

Backtesting Forex pairs -help'
Hi, I am trying to learn how to ACCURATELY backtest some strategies on Forex daily charts. I have looked at the the MC users guide and really got nowhere. It showed a lot of stuff to be had from a button in the upper left corner of the performance report. None of that is available in my forex pairs ...

Re: How do I download multicharts's webinar on webex?
Thanks Henry.
I was using my iPad and multicharts.webex.com is something entirely different for some reason. Different appearing page altogether. On my PC it looks just like it should. Very weird.

Re: How do I download multicharts's webinar on webex?
The link doesn't work. It takes me to a sign-in page for user and password. When I use my forum log-in, it doesn't work. I want to watch the webinar by Scott Tafel. Can you help me? Thx, Scott

Please help me with a simple Show Me coding problem
Can some please show me a code snippet which allows me to use text in a show me indicator study? I am a self-taught EL programmer, so I can do some things but don't know how to do others. I can plot dots or crosses above below price bars to show when entry indications have been met, as a Show Me ind...

Thanks TJ. I'll give it a try and post how it goes. On my archived XP system I found the files you are referring to at: C:\Documents and Settings\{Username}\Local Settings\Application Data\TS Support\MultiCharts Sounds close enough, and it was archived, unlike the hidden folders. I am hopeful and wi...

Thanks Steven. That sheds some light on things. I have located the .gdb files you mentioned - on my new system. I am trying to find then on my archived old system - I am not finding them so far. I think hidden folders were not backed up on the Mozy servers. I had to manually select the folders to ba...

Recovering custom indicators after a fatal computer crash!
Hi Everyone, I'm new on the boards and have a complicated (to me) issue. I recently had a fatal crash of my XP computer. I had a lot of custom indicators I developed and some workspaces, strats, functions I developed on the computer. Everything was on MC 5.0. I have an on-line backup service, so all...
