Re: MC doesn't shut down properly [SOLVED]
When I open my desktop with offline data, I get charts quite quickly with data untill today. When I close and open the desktop again with online data and filling missing data, it takes much more time. The charts are freezing waiting to get backfilled. After shutting down, the TSserver (91 MB) and Tr...

Re: MC doesn't shut down properly [SOLVED]
Thanks for your full answer. I shut down MC and reboot once a week. If this is not often enough, how comes that MC doesn' t shut down properly after one week. MC doesn't shut down properly [SOLVED]
After closing my desktop in MC and exit, I saw sometimes a small window processing something in the database. Now it isn't anymore. Everytime I start up my desktop it takes too long to see my charts just because MC has to look for the data in TWS again. I see that because I get annoying historical d...

Re: Frequent IB pacing violations - is this expected behavio
I have those error messages also a bit too easy in my opinion. How is it possible that I have the historical data request pacing violation for many many minutes altough I just start up my desktop/workspaces as I quit them the evening before?? It's very frustrating! If the data is saved on my compute...

The barstatus should do the trick. Many thanks.

Re: Entry EOB Target/Stop intrabar [SOLVED]
Had a search on forum but not in wiki. (stupid me :-) ) I try to understand the concept of barstatus and I think this will do the trick but in practice I don't see always direct impact on the signals. Can I combine it like here? LE = barstatus=2 and close > average(close,10) ; LX = MarketPosition = ...

Re: Entry EOB Target/Stop intrabar [SOLVED]
The [IntrabarOrderGeneration=true] was above. Because it didn't worked as expected, i tried to use the statusbar in the definition of the LE, SE and the stops. But with no different outcome. This is the full code. Inputs: TargetL(11), TargetS(11), ExitL(50), ExitS(50), FixStop(20); variables: LE(fal...

Re: Entry EOB Target/Stop intrabar [SOLVED]
I implemented it and it indeed seems that the entry is EOB altough the [IntrabarOrderGeneration=true] is used. Which is good. But now also the profit and the stoploss are end of bar. In the code I used the barstatus where I should expect it counts only for entries (LE, SE) and stops (LongSL, ShortSL...

Entry EOB Target/Stop intrabar [SOLVED]
Hello, I've read https://www.multicharts.com/trading-software/index.php/How_Signals_are_Calculated and i'm using now [IntrabarOrderGeneration=true] So that the profit target and stoploss of X point will be executed intrabar. Altough, the entrysignal (long/short) should be End Of Bar. Is that possibl...

Re: Plotting indicator within strategy [SOLVED]
Indeed, no error now. Tough, the result is not as hoped (see chart). The goal is the have the shortExit-signal-line for the last 10 bars when the marketposition is short. Variables: HighestHigh(0), x(0); if i_getplotvalue(1) = -1 then begin HighestHigh = Highest(high, 10)[1]; // Remove the old plot ...

Re: Plotting indicator within strategy [SOLVED]
MC for TWS is just for trial, I'm already using MC 64 v9.0 build 10360. If I put i_setplotvalue(1, MarketPosition); just below the formula as you showed, the compiler gives: unknow function. So, I seems I don't have the beta version? What's best to do? Other program possibility or download the beta?...

Re: MC for TWS compile error [SOLVED]
Good idea but is that for vista users or for versions below 8.8. I use windows 8 with MC version 9. There were never problems. Now that I install the latest MC for TWS 8.90, there's the problem. I saw that the error is also when compiling an existing indicator. Is this a conflict between the two ver...

MC for TWS compile error [SOLVED]
I installed MC for TWS (64bit) and did a simple copy/paste of the original MACD formula into MC for TWS. It gaves a compile error. How comes? Re: Plotting indicator within strategy [SOLVED]
Hi Wegi, thanks for the idea. Looked in wiki for more information about the i_setplotvalue but it's not clear where to put this in the signal and indicator. Plotting indicator within strategy [SOLVED]
It seems not possible in 'signals' to use something like: if close > movingaverage(close,5) then plot(indicator x). Within 'indicators' it's not possible to use 'marketposition'. Re: Plot Lowest indicator only at last 10 bars [SOLVED]
Indeed, copy/paste is sometimes a bit too easy but that's how i try to learn it. I'm a real starter.
Should have looked up the meaning of status bar. Changed it and it seems to work better now.
With this a can build further, thanks!

Re: Plot Lowest indicator only at last 10 bars [SOLVED]
When adding, the indicator is not plotted. When reloading the chart 1 or 2 days, then the indicator is (mostly) plotted.
Is there a reason why it's so hard to get that indicator on the chart?

Re: Plot Lowest indicator only at last 10 bars [SOLVED]
Your formula should plot the same as on your chart isn't? A copy/paste into the editor and after F3, this shows nothing on the chart. That's strange. --- After trying several times and looking at the parameters, it's now shown on the ES chart but when I try on another chart, it's nothing. How comes ...

Re: Plot Lowest indicator only at last 10 bars [SOLVED]
Josh and TJ,
Included an image with the plot of the lowest value. It's plotted constantly. I want it to plot only under the latest x bars. Like the blue line that has been drawn.
In fact it's exact what's on the graph of Josh but when using the formula it does nothing.
Almost there I think.

Plot Lowest indicator only at last 10 bars [SOLVED]
Hi, I have an indicator that plots the lowest value of the close. Tough, it's plotted historical under every bar until the latest. Short signal in MC when still long in MS [SOLVED]
I' running a strategy for many years on metastock (to IB TWS) without any problem but I'm switching to MC now. I'm trying to convert the formula correctly to test MC.
