Re: What in the world could be wrong with this picture?!

These are good observations, JoshM.
Setting Data1 to "seconds" works fine, but still not enough bars.
Setting Data1 to Ask or Bid, instead of Trade, does not appear to work at all. It shows "No Data".!!

Re: What in the world could be wrong with this picture?!

Thanks evdl and TJ . You both seem to be saying the same thing. My question is: Would these "gymnastics" ultimately produce a reliable code and consistent signals?.. And,..since this appears to be above my coding skills, should I expect help in that regard on this forum, or is it more involved so th...

Re: What in the world could be wrong with this picture?!

You only get a signal if the close of data2 crossing over coincidence with the closing of a bar in data1. Thanks for the explanation. It's what I suspected to be the reason why no signals appear on the historical chart. But, what about real-time trading? For instance, currently, without any modific...

What in the world could be wrong with this picture?!

http://www.multicharts.com/discussion/download/file.php?id=7896 MultiCharts (2Data).jpg Even though the condition is met , No trading signals! Notice the absence of any trade signals in Data1, despite the repeated crossover of the Close of Data2 of the Price (marked by the dotted yellow horizontal ...

Re: Automated Futures Options

The referenced article and the method are very useful, but not in this case. We are not talking about orders not being sent to brokers, but rather not being generated at all in the historical chart when a strategy is applied - even though conditions are met. The puzzle I'm facing is that just by cha...

Re: Automated Futures Options

Thanks, Henry! Here's the problem: only very few random trading signals are being generated, and in many cases even none at all. Despite trying various combinations of time frames and bar intervals, most of the obvious signals are absent from the historical chart. I'm trying to understand the reason...

Re: PowerLanguage Syntax

That's sad. It's a nice lounge to spend the time in, while waiting for your orders to be filled,...especially if one is infected with the Keyboard Diarrhea virus!

Re: Problem with TS Data connection [SOLVED]

Yes indeed. Makes you wonder why aren't such effective techniques and levels of dedication to technical support being adopted by other companies!?

Re: Problem with TS Data connection [SOLVED]

This remote demonstration tool has to be one of the most effective ways to provide technical help and quickly solve problems. Without it, people could be spending days banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out what's going on. I know I did in the past on other platforms! But also, ha...

Re: PowerLanguage Syntax

Amazing,..never thought there's a difference between:
BUY 1 contract next bar
and
BUY next bar 1 contract
..as they're equally valid in EasyLanguage.
Thanks for pointing that out!

By the way, is there a Water Cooler section here?

PowerLanguage Syntax

The following simple code does not compile in the PowerLanguage Editor. Apparently the words "contracts" and "market" are considered errors! They are standard EasyLanguage reserved words. So, what is the correct syntax for this order in MultiCharts? Inputs: Qty(1); Buy next bar Qty contracts at mark...

Re: Problem with TS Data connection [SOLVED]

Now I'm confused. The Installation video clearly says that MultiCharts should be the one made to run as "Administrator", since TS by default runs as the administrator!

Problem with TS Data connection [SOLVED]

Connecting to TS's Data feed seems to be problematic and takes forever "waiting for data". Any tips?

Automated Futures Options

I'm interested in automating Futures Options orders. Very simple concept, goes something like this: On a chart of two data symbols, where Data1 is a Futures Options symbol, July Treasury Bond CALL option of Strike Price 136 (USN14 C136) And Data2 is the underlying Futures contract (USU14). - for exa...
