Hi Marina,

The next time there is an issue with the charts I will contact support so that you can log in a view it.

Yes I do run MCFX on both my desktop and laptop, but not at the same time. So I don't think that issue applies to me.

Thanks,

David

Guys, that sounds nice. But I am looking at a 100point EURUSD chart that has not updated in 15 minutes. And refresh does not work. I am flying blind and having to use the built in fxcm charts. The 1 hour chart seems to be updating fine. I too am a software developer. And I love your application, in ...

EURUSD where is the data?

Well it is 0600 GMT Monday (10pm PST Sunday) and MCFX is sitting idly doing absolutely nothing. It says it has a good connection, but where is the data for the last 8 hours?

Can MCFX hire an after hours technician to reboot the datafeed when it has glitches?

Thanks,

David

This delay is caused by the peculiarities of FXCM's API: it is somewhat slow to respond and I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about it on our end. Thats unfortunate. My style of trading is especially affected by spreads and slippage. Interesting just how attractive Oanda's spreads are. Usually 1...

ok, mcfx is now successfully restarted. cpu usage is low. however i do not have any autotrading activated. --- 5 min later --- next I started autotrading. i assume the fxcmserverproxy.exe is what makes that happen. cpu usage still low ~20% -- 10 min later -- all is still smooth, even with 20 charts ...

sigh... I decided to close mcfx as my cpu has been maxed for the last hour by the fxcmproxyserver process.

and it tells me it has crashed and asks if i want to send a crash report. no, i don't. it is now trying to open, with mcfx.exe now hogging the cpu.

As I write this the prices are out of synch. 13:06 GMT the bid on MCFX is 1.5525 and FXCM is 1.5515. My CPU is also maxed by a process called FXCMServerProxy.exe running at 70+ Granted I have 20 charts open. Should I be observing a limit on the number of charts I have running?

Hi Marina, this is the first time on the MCFX platform I've seen my automated strategies running overnight without hiccups. And I see no gaps in the data thus far. I wonder if it also may be too soon to judge reliability as most of your users are probably still using the previous server. (you don't ...

I think you meant this is a problem on FXCM's end :D Thanks a bunch for the auto-trading. So nice to see my scripts trading all night without me (demo of course). I have noticed a few things with the autotrading, but I will detail those in another posts. Cheers, David that FXCM sometimes stops to se...

It is actually fairly difficult to achieve "3 Nines" of uptime (99.9%). If our TS Support friends can achieve that I will be happy. According to my calculator, that is 45 seconds of downtime in 24 hours. I can live with that. This morning so far so good.

Well, mcfx totally died on the EUR/USD on the NFP release today at 5:30 PDT.

Finally in frustration I went back to bed and closed MCFX.

Just now, I opened it again, and the data is corrupt.

The EUR/USD on a 50 point charts goes from a june5 16:58 PDT bar to june6 8:03 PDT bar.

FYI, this morning the feed stalled from 1358 GMT to 1432 GMT. I informed support via instant chat. I had to ask three times for them to do something. When the data returned there is a nice gap during the downtime. Luckily this does not affect my strategy that much, but I surely don't want to automat...

Regarding price, I agree that MCFX is very well priced. I used the $99/mth as I use some automation. However I would pay $500/month to get solid reliability. The reason I have not switched to another chart provider, is that MCFX is in fact my favorite. It is intuitive (mostly), a pleasure to work wi...

Thank you for your reply. Yes I am aware of fast market lags, and system/network issues as potential problems. I eat those issues as a cost of doing business when they happen. In this case though, the FXCM prices were very actively moving, but MCFX looked like a Sat. afternoon. Nothing. CPU was hove...

Frustrated by stalled data feed

Why is it that at least a few times a week during very active market times (like now as EUR reports are being release) that the data feed stalls. I trade from minutes to hours, and depend on accurate data. Yet now, I am staring at my backup crap FREE charting package, because MCFX is taking a nap wi...

Tips for automated trading with FXCM

Hi, this is from my chat with support: David: I have been using the scripting to automate trades with FXCM. I was wondering if there is documentation specific to the options available with FXCM. I am familiar with all the easylanguage documentation, but have found the at times FXCM thinks I am start...
