Is there a trick to making this work ? I simply put data1 = daily data data2 = weekly data I applied 2 rsi's into one simple study vs using separate rsi's for each data stream, in TS2ki it works perfectly, in MC data2 doesn't match- see attached. Andrew- you said "Backtesting that factors bids/ask in available in the recent betas. You can add two data streams – bids + asks and the software will use ask for buy and bid to sell. " * I'd like to try that but do I add the Bid and Ask in Quote manager only ? or on the charts , both , within the s...

Beta4 backfilling instead of using Quotemanager
Since installing beta4, 2 days ago , I noticed after TWS shutdown and quotemanager shutdown (waiting 10 minutes for data to be saved), that when I re-boot the computer and reload MC , it backfills the data, instead of using quote manager data, causing my indicators to give this error- "not enough da...

I think Marina mentioned that a walk forward module will be in an upcoming version of Multicharts, that should show just how curve fitted most systems are to the past. Be generous with slippage, comission and do walk forward testing in up, down and sideways markets, to really test a system, before e...

If you had a system that gets in and exits as soon as profit hits 1/2 point (ES-$25), it would probably get close to 90% accuracy, but 1 loser would kill the profits from several winners, so it wouldn't be tradable. Accuracy <> tradable was my point. Money management is more important than accuracy.

"Larry Williams once wrote that he knows of a fully automated trading system that runs at 95% win/loss (not sure if it auto-trades)." * I could write a system that approaches 90-95% by taking quick scalps but the losses would swamp the profits and be untradable. I think most good automated systems a...

brodnicki steven, I have to apologize. I actually had Beta 3 when I told you it seemed to work fine. I downloaded Beta 4 last night and didn't have any problems till market opened this morning, then I had 4 crashes. After spending some time with TS support, I ended up going back to the official rel...

Is Beta 4 stable ?
I know beta 3 caused many problems but I'm planning to try Beta4 tomorrow, after market hours and want to know if anyone is using Beta4 and if it's stable enough to trade with real-time. (hopefully with IB) or if they're having any major problems with it.

I've been using V5.2 , it never stops updating. Over the past 3 months, I did have a strange chart overlapping problem a few times but that's all. I'm not sure if the chart problem was video driver related or MC related. It doesn't happen often enough to figure out. For daily bars, I use 24hr bars, ...

My normal process with updates is to install the software, reboot , then run the power editor and do a "compile all uncompiled" . Then close the editor and start MC. I did that today with V5.3 and it worked perfectly. All updates require re-compiling studies, so they MUST be compiled BEFORE opening ...
