Marina.
That looks good.
It might be clearer if the last two points began with with the word "Assume" instead of "Make" because we are not expecting MC to send any order to change anything on connection.

Support for BrendanH

I fully suppport brendanh's comments regarding the problem with MC autotrading. When MC reconnects it assumes that the position is flat. In reality a position is held with IB and the signal shows that position on the chart. The next signal to appear is an exit, MC does not generate this exit order b...

Simple Mode Switch

I agree that MC should have a simple mode option switch that trades in accordance with the signal/strategy position and makes no position assumption (eg flat when reconnected) other than that determined by the strategy currentposition. The onus is then on the trader to match the IB position with the...

Thanks TJ In my first post you will see I have imported the data and used it. My problem is that the data is not being saved for some reason. When I re-open MC after it is closed the chart says "no data" and when I open Quote Manager the data has gone from the symbol and I have to import it again. J...

Marina,
I'm not sure I was right, above.

I am importing history data into a symbol I have manually created in Quote Manager. The symbol says "Data Source" - ASCII Mapping.

Quote Manager, ASCII data lost

I am using MC V3.1 and find that ASCII data loaded on Quote manager is not being saved when I close. When I open MC next the chart says "no data" and Quote Manager has no data in the symbol.
Is there something I need to do now to keep ASCII data loaded in Quote Manager?

Further to my previous posting I noticed the following in your MC User Guide which may be the problem: "BuyToCover Completely or partially exits one or all of the short entries as specified by the parameters. The exit point is visually indicated on a chart by an Arrow and a Tick. The Arrow identifie...

Major Problem - Autotrader

We are using MC Ver 3 and we are experiencing the following problem. A large number of "buytocover this bar close" or "sell this bar close" orders are not being routed to TWS. We have checked the TWS audit report and the orders do not appear at all. No "Place Order", no "Acknowledged", no "Cancelled...

Hi Marina, Thank you for your explanation. I now understand the circumstances where scenario 1 and 3 could occur. But scenario 2: "II. No price order has been plotted on the chart. This order has been sent to TWS in advance and filled there when the conditions were met. The market position will: a) ...

This is happening on one data source as well, see my original attachment 1.
It IS a real problem while auto trading and re-booting MC is NOT a practical solution.

Incorrect time on chart

I am receiving data from IB. Data is ticking in live on point bars and tick bars but for some reason the current time on the chart stops updating. The same problem arises when I have two lots of data on the same chart and point bars are used. Time recorded at the bottom of the chart stops ticking wh...

Unfilled Limit Orders

If a buy limit order is sent to TWS and it is not filled is "marketposition" correctly recorded as 0 and not 1. That is does marketposition take account of filled and unfilled orders, by way of feedback from TWS.

Intermittent Interactive Brokers data supply

I have followed TS Support online tutorial to connect to and load data from Interactive Brokers. Sometimes it works and data flows but, equally, regularly no live data feeds in. This is not just one market, but several. My solution has been to reboot both Multi Charts and IB platforms, but this obvi...
