Dear all,
Does anyone have experience in using MultiCharts Order API ?
http://www.multicharts.com/multicharts/sdk/
I am a programmer. I want to connect MultiCharts to a broker who is willing to open his API.
(1) Did you do it by yourself? Or by MultiCharts' technical team?
(2) Does the SDK (MultiCharts Order API) have sufficient document to guide you the integration
(3) How much time did you finish the integration job?
Thanks
General

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Hello General,
Our developers can create a custom broker connection for you.
There are also developers working themselves on the custom connections.
MultiCharts SDK has sufficient documentation and examples for integration.
The time it takes to create a connection may vary and depends on the broker's API and your final goal.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Henry,
Thanks for your reply.
The integration requires BIG money to buy the SDK and the services.
So, I want to hear some successful stories from other technical people.
However, I cannot find any from web; so I'm afraid the risk is quite high.

In my opinion free SDKs would generate more revenue for MC LLC than the current model of paid SDKs.
Free and easily available SDKs would attract many programmers who would integrate MC with lots of (even exotic) exchanges and brokers all over the world thus bringing many new clients for MC licences.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Tresor, excellent comment. I totally agree with you.
This is a win-win-win situation.
Broker and developer: lower the risk of integration
MC: utimately more traders will buy MC to do trade << this arrangement is better than offering free starter edition
Trader: they have more choices of brokers.
Most software vendors offer free SDKs and charagable services.
Hope that MC LLC could consider this.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Yes a fully functional free Order API SDK would be very useful. It will also require a free Data API SDK to complement it. MC can then focus on making improvements to other aspects of MC, such as it's charting interface.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. At the moment we do not plan to change the existing API policy.
You can create a feature request at our Project Management Resource for the broker you'd like to add, and we'll consider developing a plugin.
You can also vote for the existing requests for adding new brokers/data feeds.
If you don't have an account at Project Management resource yet, please contact our support and we'll create an account for you.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Thank you Vlada for the clarification and I agree with it. I always submit issues direct to MC support, and I always find them excellent in their response and resolution times. I find MC support second to none compared to my dealings with all sorts of other support teams, whether they be IT related or not. I am saying all this truly and sincerely.
As for feature requests I understand there are so many and not all, not even most can be implemented due to obvious reasons. The only one I have to complain about is the one to provide support for IG Markets data feed and trading. It is a very popular request and it has been outstanding for a number of years. A similar request has been successfully implemented for Saxo Markets, and from what I can see it's very similar in the approach to interfacing with the provider, thus it should be a very simple and easy feature to fulfil for MC (see Feature request MC-517).. I'm just wondering why the extensive delay? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
This is great news ! It was much awaited for years by many of us, thank you MC, you made my dayWe are working on implementing support for IG Markets in the future release versions.
Any ETA for next release ?
Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Yes even an approximate ETA would be nice. By saying "in the future release versions" it gives me the impression it could be more than 6 months or even years away, which is not good given it's already been promised it was forthcoming a long time ago. So, please give us an approximate ETA. Much appreciated. If it's too far away I will be forced to use another platform, such as MT5 and use a means to send signals to it from MC. I would rather not go to all that trouble.

Re: MultiCharts Order API ?
Implementing the broker and data feed connection for IG Markets is planned for MultiCharts 15.
Unfortunately, we don't have the ETA yet since the workflow of our Engineering Team includes working on lots of improvements and new features planned for this version.
