For those who get the following compiler error even for an empty study:
compile error:"line 0, column 0"
I found a simple fix that might work for you. I detected the stray file below and I deleted it.
C:\ProgramData\TS Support\MultiCharts64\StudyServer\Studies\SrcCpp\Indicators\ia_a23~1.dll
Afterwards the compiler worked fine. The reason I detected this file is my regular backup script displayed an "access denied" message. I thought that was strange as I never had that before (except with older versions of MC where I had to change the access permissions of a few MC files). So I checked my previous backups and that file was never there. So I thought I better try and remove it. Glad it worked because I wasn't looking forward to re-installing MC.
