Problem with IB Datafeed on GC/CL/SI only since Feb 10, 2023

Postby henrywl » 24 Feb 2023

All other symbol from IB like NQ YM, ES and the other currency pair is working fine. Only GCJ3, CLH3, SIH3 is nothing working since Feb 10, 2023.
Checking the IB TWS all the symbols are fined.

Thank you

Hello henrywl,

When plotting the problematic symbols, please check the Event Log in QuoteManager.
If you see the "No security definition has been found for the request" messages, it happens due to the time zone processing in the latest version of the IB API. We’re currently discussing it with the IB team.

In the meantime, there are two workarounds:
  1. Downgrading to MultiCharts 14 Release 6. To downgrade, uninstall the current version first. To keep your user data, do not check the "Remove user data" box when uninstalling, leave it unchecked. You can also create a backup file before uninstalling to be on the safe side.
  2. Changing the PC time zone (right-click the PC time -> Adjust date/time) and IB TWS time zone (IB TWS login window -> More Options) to UTC-5 or UTC-6
We'll let you know as soon as there's any news.

Thank you Kate, I am using the first method of downgrading to Release 6, and seems everything is back to normal now.
Hope your IB team could solve the IB API issues soon.

Thank you very much

henrywl,

After the discussion with the IB team, we’re happy to announce the solution.

To resolve the "No security definition has been found for the request" error in MultiCharts 14 Release 8 (or Release 7), please apply the following setting in IB TWS/Gateway: Global Configuration > API > Settings > in the "Send instrument-specific attributes for dual-mode API client in" drop-down box select “instrument timezone”.

Same problem arise for the Data feed over IB

Hello Kate,
After updating the MC to the latest version of 15 (build 26125) there seems to a problem with YM which data feed doesn't load again and on the TWS side which the YM is working fine.
Under the QuoteManager there's an error of "No security definition has been found for the request" again and I have already config the TWS to "insturment timezone" already

Best Regards,
Henry

Hello Henry,

Please send us a report via the main MultiCharts window → Help → Feedback.
In the description field specify your IB software version. You can check it in Help → About Trader Workstation.
Then select the following options:
  • Attach a screenshot;
  • Attach log files…;
  • Snapshot of the current MC setup;
  • Open workspaces…;
  • Upload collected data to Help Desk;
    uncheck other options and click Send.

Hello Henry,

It looks like Interactive Brokers have changed symbol names for YM. On their symbol list the June contract it’s YMM4, not YM JUN 24.
Please add the symbol in QuoteManager → Instrument → Add Symbol → From Data Source → Interactive Brokers. After the symbol is added, create a new chart for it.

Thank so much Kate, the problem is complete solved, as I didn't realize the change of IB symbol.
