Re: cant load options
Hello fernando43611,
When you search for symbols, MultiCharts sends a symbol list request and waits for the provider’s API response. Unfortunately, IB API might stop responding when Options symbol lists are requested, that’s a processing peculiarity on their end. You’ll need to add Options symbols one by one searching for a specific name instead of the root:

You’ll need to add Options symbols one by one searching for a specific name instead of the root:
- Close all MultiCharts components and IB TWS/Gateway and make sure there are no MC or IB processes left in Task Manager -> Details tab -> Description column. That step is required to reset the IB API.
- Start IB TWS, find the required symbol name. For example, type QQQ and press enter -> Options -> right-click the symbol -> Description -> copy the name (for example, QQQ 230818C00379000)
- Paste that name into the search field when adding symbols in QuoteManager, select Exchange and Category and click Lookup.
