Hello Martin,

I have sent you the link to ELXL library in PM. Do you have any particular questions regarding this library?

Thanks

I never succeed to work with that library. I installed your proposed one and still the same problem. I always get error 50

- Excel sheet do exist and is opened
- One instance only ( verify with Task Manager)
- ELExcel.dll reside under Tssupport/Multicharts directory and under System32 directory

I suspect that the dll does not reside in a proper directory, but no mention on where it should be

the demo code:

Code: Select all

inputs:
   string WorkbookName( "Demo Workbook 2.xls" ),
   string WorksheetName( "Sheet1" ) ;
variables:
   bool WorksheetReady( false ) ;

Once Print ("Step1");
WorksheetReady = ELXL_WithSheet( WorkbookName, WorksheetName ) ;
Once print ("step2");

Hello Martin,

It seems like the problem is in the dll itself. Do you use MC 32 bit? What is the Windows version?

Hello Martin,

Have you tried to use the test script which comes with elxl.dll? It works fine on our end.

We put the dll into MultiCharts folder, imported the archive, opened Excel documents (disabling read-only properties). Then plotted a 1 minute ESZ2 chart from Oepn E Cry with 500 bars on it and applied both indicators. Data started to come to Excel. Please see attached screenshot.

Re: Excel Link.. Send data to Excel /Reactivating an old pro  [SOLVED]

Postby arjfca » 01 Nov 2012

Dave, I did chat with Roman at your custumer service. They seem to have found the problem

For whatever reason, the dll file had to be renamed to Elexcel3.dll. Roman told me that your engeneer will investigate why!

Will work with it and let you know.

I'm more than happy to see that working finally.

Please post your code section
- Did you have the correct "address" of your Excel file EX:" C:myExcelfile\Excelfile.Xls"
- Is your Excel file is already open
- The dll work in single instance only meaining
You cant' open another Excel file unless it is opened under the same instance (File Open from the opened file)
- When you close your Excel file, the link from MC to Excel is not killed and Excel is still opend
in background. The easiest way to resolve that is to use Ctrl Alt Del and from the windows menu, kill any Excel instance that is still open

That should resolve your problem

Did you succeed once to send data to Excel?
If not, then maybe your Excel sheet is not at the proper link address "C:\...\ExcelFile.Xlsm"

- If you did succeed then probably that you have more than one Excel instance opened
Do Ctrl Alt Del.. You will get the Windows Task Manager. Look under the Process and see if more then one Excel is listed

- Kill any Excel that is present, then reopened your Excel file
Once Excel open, Remove your in MC, remove your indicator ( the one with EleXcel.dll) and re-install it

- If this those not resolve your problem, I would suggest that you contact the technical support using the chat function. They are very efficient.

MC not reliable ?????
Only problem that I may have is when using tick chart or to many indicator in use on a low resolution. I'm not there to defend them, just i don't have any reliability problem with MC.

Contacting them is really the best advise..

Good luck

You're lucky Martin.

I've never been able to send order to IB without problem (autotrade). I have to send my order every day with IBOSA.

However, the support is the greatest and the best i know. Actually, Henry is trying to solve my problem but it seems it's very difficult to him too.
