Why do I get pacing violation ?

Postby Guest » 09 Aug 2007

My MC crashed.
So I rebooted the computer and reloaded MC.

I only track 2 items -- ES and YM.

The reboot took about 10 minutes, so my missing data would be 10 minutes the most.

The YM 1min chart came up quickly, but nothing else.

So I went to see the QM log.

Lo and behold I was getting Pacing Violation.

After a crash is the only time I would ever expect to see a pacing violation. MC should always keep track of how many historical bars it has requested over the last xx minutes and not request more when it would cause a violation.

The one time MC has no way of knowing how many bars it has requested is after a crash (it may have had what it was allowed before the crash).

The post does not give enough information to say why you got the pacing violation in the situation you described.
