Trading Custom Futures @ IB

Postby qwerasdft8 » 15 Mar 2024

HI,
I'm using IB as datafeed and IB as broker.
Multicharts version is 15.0 Release.

I select "Reload Data"(EX: 1 week Back),When I'm using Portfolio Trader to Automate Order Execution / Backtesting.
Instruments: NQTEST5(Custom Futures), Then PT stuck on "Loading Data",
But if I use @NQ (IB build-in Instruments), "Reload Data" is work
And I tried to reload Data NQTEST5(Custom Futures) at Multicharts, this function is work. Only PT "reload data" malfunction

How could I fix this problem?

Hi qwerasdft8,

Most likely, your custom futures is on GLOBEX, while IB changed their actual futures to CME.

Please follow these steps:
  1. In QuoteManager → Tools → Symbol Dictionary select the IB data source and Edit the NQ root: select CME in the Exchange drop-down menu.
  2. To apply these changes to your custom futures, double-click it in QuoteManager → select any other Symbol Root and then switch it back to NQ. You should start seeing CME in the Exchange column in QuoteManager.

  3. Close all MultiCharts components and make sure there are no MC processes left in the Task Manager → Details tab → Description column. Start MultiCharts.
  4. Re-add your custom futures on all your workspaces.

Hello,

Our engineers have reproduced the reported behaviour on our end.
They’ll work on fixing it in one of the future releases.

In the meantime, we’d recommend not using the Reload option if you have a custom futures in portfolio.
Instead, if you need to reload the whole custom futures or an individual contract, plot a chart for it and reload it (View → Reload).
