order rejected, autotrading trying to trade historical signl

Postby waveslider » 31 Oct 2011

Hello,
I had an order rejected this morning, I am checking with my broker but believe it was because autotrading was trying to trade the symbol which is selected for historical data, not the real time data symbol.
Do I have a setting wrong somewhere?

thanks

Please provide the screenshots of these windows so that we can see the rejected order:
File -> New -> Order and position tracker window -> Orders tab
File -> New -> Order and position tracker window -> Logs tab

If you have not restarted MultiCharts after this issue, please provide us the logs.
Here's two ways how to find them:
1)You can find log files here "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application
Data\TS Support\MultiCharts\".
You should paste this line in Start --> Run and in the window that will pop
up make a zip-folder.
or
2) please click on the Windows Start button-> Programs -> MultiCharts ->
make a right click on Logs-> then click on Properties.
Go to the Shortcut tab and click on "Open file location".
In the appeared window please compress to Zip folder called "Logs".
Send this archive to us and we will analyze it.

I believe I have corrected it, using the symbol mapping on the drop down menu on the "strategy automation" box. Had it mapped to @ES.D for the broker, which is not the trading symbol.
I'll post if the next order is rejected, probably the problem is solved.

thanks Henry
