email alerts using gmail, aol, or mediacom?
I have used email alerts regularly in the past, but my ISP just changed their email policy to disallow relaying. I have accounts with Mediacom, Gmail, and aol, and so far as I know, none of them will allow me to specify these email accounts as Sender, using their SMTP Server. Or maybe I'm just not s...

Sample Autotrading and intrabar strategies that work well
First, I’d like to say that I'm very happy to see the new features in Multicharts, including intra-bar executions and limit orders in autotrading. I've been waiting a long time for them. However, it occurs to me there are so many different ways of writing strategies, there are probably a lot of scen...

Well, I guess I've answered my own question. I sandwiched a Buy command between two print statements and discovered that MarketPosition is not updated until the bar closes. (Kind of like checking your wallet after the bartender shoos you out the door.) So you'll have to keep track of your own market...

IB Auto-Trading, MarketPosition update frequency
Hi Folks, I have some general comments and a specific question. First the question. Exactly when is MarketPosition updated? Suppose in one part of the code, you buy from a flat position. Then later in the same signal you sell. Does MarketPosition go from 0 to 1 to 0 within the signal code or is it o...

What is the easiest way to clear the registry? I used to regedit to examine, but TSsupport is all over the place. Is there an easier way to find all the TSsupport material in one place? Preferrably, is an uninstall available that does the job correctly? I have a long history of versions, and I have ...

commission and slippage
The slippage and commission fields are greyed out in the strategy propoerties box. Am I missing something simple here?
Thanks,

Reference books for EasyLanguage/Power Language? Debugging?
Can anyone provide a good reference for EasyLanguage programming? I know the user manuals are pretty good, but, for example, I use the following in several paint indicators, and I've never seen any reference to any of this except in this forum. I really don't even know what the calling parameters me...

Ok, thanks. Good idea. Actually, though, I just went to try your suggestion, and it worked as it is supposed to - it retrieved my data w/o logging in before I had a chance to modify the symbol format. Very weird. I'll watch it to see if this inconsistency remains. Alex et al, the only difference was...

Offline data mode for IB access
Is this not working now. I have the latest beta version, and this functionality seems to have disappeared. I used to be able to work offline w/o connecting to IB, but now it demands an IB login - even when set to offline mode. I'm trying to access my local historical ES futures data on Saturday when...

Stock Splits and correcting IB data
I see that IB does not adjust its data base for stock splits. I assume that other data sources do. However, what is the easiest way to adjust the IB data for a split? Will there ever be a feature for automatically doing this in MC? Also, what is the proper procedure for correcting the data base? I s...

At the time, I was using a 3 week old version, but last night, I downloaded 1.90.468.865, and it also shows weird behavior. The symbol doesn't matter. It can be any symbol. Mine are all stock symbols. The data source is IB, Smart. I loaded the workspace, drew a bunch of drawings on a one minute char...

Drawing objects destoyed when time scale changes
I like to mark entry and exit points with circles and rectangles. When I change
the time scale to something else, then go back again, the circles and rectangles are destroyed. See the attached screen shots and
explanation.
Thanks,
GD

Resetting the "price scale"
When the "Y" reset price scale (or the "all scale") icon is clicked, it resets the Yscale for all studies in all windows. It should only reset for the current window. I'd like to manually set the volume scale because I use a line to plot both Volume Up and Volume Down. I would like to somehow make t...

Data error - High,low matches close,open
This is a very strange error. The data feed is IB. It only occurs for one symbol, SNDK, out of dozens. The highs and lows are set equal to the opens/closes (or vice versa). Hence, there are no wicks on these candlesticks. Look at the data in the attached pdf. This doesn't occur using IB's TWS or usi...

Appreciate software First of all, let me say that I do appreciate your software. It’s a very powerful platform and is sure to improve with time. I finally figured this out. See the attached pdf. The top figure, (GD_test) is correct. The code generating the two indicators is given below. {GD_test} input: U_arrow_color(green),D_arrow_color(red),strictness(0); var: id(0), Up_arrow(False), Down_arrow(False); Up_arrow = (TrueHigh > TrueHigh [1]);...
