Was update in place (without uninstalling previous version) ever added? I'm only going from 14.0 to 14 release 4 so assume that there have been no format changes. I'm guessing the answer is uninstall and re-install. Is there anything I need to backup apart from studies I have modified and databases?...

Just to be clear does that mean MC can no longer use FXCM for data?bomberone1,
FXCM is supported as a broker profile.
To connect it, in MultiCharts go File -> Broker Profiles -> Manage Broker Profiles.
If you don’t see FXCM in the list, go New -> FXCM.
Thanks.

Your code only will run when there is a TRADE. There could be millions of bid ask changes and they will not be detected by your code because MC will not run it for bid ask changes.
Incidentally I am not 'trying to say' anything. Read what I wrote again and try and understand what I actually said.

Just to state the obvious if you only have one data series in your chart, only ticks in that series will cause your code to run. So I think we can say that SC is indeed using tick volume since both outputs are identical. Great, great job ABC. They do. Just to be clear they process the volume of every single tick individually. The big thing volume profile needs is to load volume to build the profile tick by tick. If you have 30 minute bars on your chart all the volume is applied to the price at 30 minute close. Nick, I do understand your concern, but the issue is Zen-fire/Rithmic specific. Let me give you an example. Let’s say we have Best Bid = 10 and Best Ask = 11. A quick Question about 5.5
I seem to remember that an option to build bars tick by tick was planned (when loading and processing historical data). Did I imagine that or is it still planned?
Cheers.
Cheers.

Can't download Freequotes from Yahoo
Hi there I have not been able to download free quotes from Yahoo recently. I am using V5.0 Release. The symbol names I am using had worked in the past and are correct as far as I can see I have tried ^FTSE ^GDAXI ^DJI. (I use it for a longer term view of the indexes and am only trying to download da...

What would be great is if MC would Have the option to store (in its database) best bid and best ask changes with size and time stamp. Have the option to store deeper levels of the order book with size changes and time stamp. The time stamp would probably need to be locally generated. The ability to ...

Thanks for making things crystal clear Andrew. Good news for early adopters. One question if I may. Will people that supported the development of MC by purchasing lifetime licenses in the early days have to pay for 6.0? Hi Andrew, Will those of us that 'grandfathered' in early in MC's life automatically qualify for free upgrades? Apart from the fact that there where a few of us that put in a lot of blood sweat and tears testing in the earlier days, that was always the deal way back then wasn't it? Cheers, Nick. Ni...

Late to this thread and kind of skimmed it. One question Why limit the number of splits? As long as the number is less than the maximum bars a chart can support whats the problem? That is exactly the problem. MC assumes that the symbol will be on layer 0. It is quite a limitation to have to put it there. The whole point of layer ordering is to be able to bring stuff forward so it is not obscured. Price data itself is pretty important not to obscure. Lines and stuff should anc...

Re: Drawing tools attached to indicators
Drawings are snapped to whatever is placed at a zero level (closest to the background). Brining a data series to the front, forces drawings to be snapped to an indicator that now happens to be at level zero. This is how it is supposed to work. Then why have a 'ticked' layer? (right click in the rig...

This is something that has annoyed the pants of me since they introduced plot ordering. every now and then I shoot them an email or post here about it. I agree to DUPL. Not only that it would be great if you had a similar feature to NEoticker's tick precise technology.
