Hello,
I am using MC - TWS version 8.8 (Release 9245).
The problem I am having is when adding expired contracts. When I used the SE version, I had no problem, so I assume its nothing wrong with my broker or API. I did read in another message that I could get IB to allow for more than 1 year of historical data, but since I was able to get NQH3 working with the SE verison, this most likely is not the solution now.
So with the TWS version, I get the "No Security Definition found" error as per these screen captures. I am making sure to add the futures contract in manually, and as you can see it does show up when I go through the steps. But after adding in the chart, no data show up, and in several seconds I get the error message.
Could there be a problem in that the TWS version of MC won't allow for showing expired contracts? I'm just looking to backtest some strategies and hence need to look up the old contracts. Thanks.

Re: MC - TWS - "No Security Definition found" error
Hello k p,
NQH3 has expired on 15th March 2013 which is more than 1 year ago.
Please try using a contract that was active within the last 1 year, for ex. NQH4.

Re: MC - TWS - "No Security Definition found" error
Hi Henry,
I tried that, and I get the same problem for NQH4, and also NQU4 which is even more recent. I don't think it can be my broker since I do have charts from NQZ3 that I started to backtest while using MC SE, so this issue seems to be limited to MC TWS. Any other ideas?

Hello !
Ok now it works:
Sorry but I have another problem, in case of an empty data, the tool window from the second curtain View is going to do Reload, now appears disabled. What do you suggest?
my version is 8.8 (9244)

Reload is disabled when the chart is backfilling or reloading the data. Please go to Format->Window->Status Line and make sure "Reloading" and "Backfilling" options are enabled. Also make sure the font color is not the same as the background color.
