Scanner Column Study Settings

Postby MC_Prog » 11 Aug 2009

Hi.

It appears that in the Scanner, after doing a 'Format <study> for all symbols', if you then delete the symbols and then paste some more in, the newly pasted symbols will NOT have the column displayed per the new settings.

IOW, the Scanner sheet itself does not remember your study settings.

Do I understand this correctly?

After further investigation, I was able to answer this one via the Help:

I must say, I find this to be a serious limitation.

A scanner sheet needs to be able to remember column settings at the sheet level, and then again at the cell level (in case the user wants a particular row to be different).

Most user-friendly behavior, IMO, is:

Pasted symbols should begin by assuming the properties from the column level, until/unless changed to be exceptions.

Examples of this functionality are available by observing the behavior of other software which implements it.

MC_Prog,

This behaviour is improved since build 2723.
