no response in quotemanager and so no graphs or data in multicharts
No any graph was shown after opening an instrument, this problem last over a few months.
It work normally in some cases, but always fail.
The broker used is interactive broker.
I have connected multicharts to real account or paper trade one, and reopened multicharts many times for testing, the graph still do not appear. I have tested this for different products.
One interesting thing is that only the price was updated in real time, but no any bars was displayed. It is supposed that it may be in the process of receiving data, so I then check the feedback in quotemanager, but no any messages for updating history data or receiving data.
So, is this a problem about connection or settings?
What should I do to solve the problem?
Thank you for your reply.

So, it is just a problem of multicharts, and do not related to the broker used, right?Sometimes I have the same Problem, then I close MC and start it again.
In most cases MC then worked fine.
But it happened that I have to restart MC for 3- or 4- times until it works correct.
aiti
And, i have reopened multicharts over 30-50 times, but the problem was still cannot be solved.
How can i use multicharts consistently if this problem cannot be fixed?
So, any solution can fix it permanently?

I track HSI on InteractiveBroker, I have no problem with the charts.
1. please upgrade to the latest version of MultiCharts.
2. are you using a wireless internet connection?
3. which TWS version are you using?
ps. August HSI rolled over the previous week.

one more, this is the API settings in TWS
and this is the setting of broker in multicharts (it is a default setting, i haven't changed it)
Are these settings correct?

I do not see any settings out of place; they are the same as mine.
Please use Live Chat to get tech support to look at your system, they can do an online diagnostics to find out what is holding you up.
A few more questions that might help to trace the cause:
1. do you add your symbols manually? or through datasource?
2. do you delete your old symbols? I do not see any previous symbols on your screen shot. (not that it matters, I don't think.)
3. Please make sure you have checked the following:
In MultiCharts:
File > Preferences > Data Server Mode > Download missing historical data
4. How much back data do you request on the chart?
5. How many other charts do you have on your screen? How many symbols?
6. Do you check different symbols often? eg. call up different charts on the screen?
7. Do you have other applications that connects to TWS as well? (eg. another charting program?)
8. Have you ever seen "Pacing violation" notices in the QuoteManager event log?

1. i always add symbols in this way
2. i seldom delete any symbols manually, just leave it as it is
3. i have checked the "Download missing historical data" in the preferences
4. a few months in the resolution of 1,5,15 mins, or tick data in a few weeks
5. at most i will open 5 workspaces (with 2 windows of graph) in the same time
6. i may not offen check different symbols
7. no any other applicants connect to tws, only multicharts
8. in face, i always see the warning of Pacing violation when the data of tick size was requested in a long period of time, like more then 1 day, (and i have checked that in the help manual of mc) but it still functions normal finally
