Hello t-rader, Our developers have studied the logs from your PC. From the logs we can see that there were issues with connection to LMAX servers for multiple days before the orders were placed (constant reconnects starting 21-01-2015 14:37:03 until 23-01-2015 22:07) – you can see the corresponding...

Even if you're close to the FXCM servers you'll still have the latency receiving the data from the Multicharts server.t-trader,
While executing with FXCM you'd want to be in NY. InterServer is who I'm looking at for my server. They're right there and have decent prices.

Re: Recommended Data Feed for historical data
TJ, Thanks for the links but I'm really looking for historical data from an actual broker because shouldn't I be trading my systems with the same broker/data I've backtested with?????? Everything I've read has suggested that this is best practice for automated systems trading .e.g I don't want to ba...

Recommended Data Feed for historical data
Hi, I use Multicharts for forex trading and would like to obtain historical minute data. My existing data feed (mbtrading) offers 6 months of minute data but I would like more than that. Without signing-up with TS at $199/month I would like to hear other viable options. Barchart offer 2 years of min...

Moderators (Dave, TJ),
Can you shed any light on this? i.e. will the release version of MC 7 include this functionality?
Any alternative ideas?
Thanks

EUR/USD - "No Trade Days" 2011
Hi all, Does anyone have a list of "no trade days" for EUR/USD they are willing to share? i.e US and UK public holidays. Particular European public holidays???? I'm trying to filter-out trading day's that should be avoided for better results. Any advice here is good advice. Don't be shy! Thanks in a...

Tradesize = 1% of accountbalance
Hi, I'm trading forex in Multicharts and want to be able to place trade sizes as a proportion of my total account size dynamically. So as my account increases, so does my trade size. Alternatively, if I start to have a bad run of losing trades, my trades sizes will get smaller. I've tried looking th...

Hi,
When will (the much anticipated) version 7 for Multicharts be released?

Trade/Bid/Ask
Hi,
I am unsure of the best "Quote Field" to use on my charts in Multicharts.
I currently use 'trade'. My mate says I should use 'Bid' (for no real reason).
Is either setting better than the other?

Hi I'm trading forex and want to know what session (time) template I should use. 24/7, "Use Exchange & ECN's Sessions", or other ? I'm thinking that if I choose anything but 24/7 my moving averages will be effected... is that right??? I only plan on trading Monday to Friday, even though the market n...

Strange Backtesting results in Multicharts

The trade times and prices simply don't match. Why is this? On the chart I have enabled bar magnify and set ...

Re: 1 hr Breakout strategy for fx
Hi Dave, Yeah I guess I'm talking about 2 things regarding backtesting. 1. How do I perform backtesting, using the backtesting program, and have it report accurately as if it was done in real-time (how to get tick-by-tick info on a 1hr chart). 2. When I perform basic testing while writing a strategy...

1 hr Breakout strategy for fx
Hi, (this has been edited to be more clear). I use Multicharts and am trying to write a simple breakout strategy that will set a high and low range for the first hour of trading. Re: Trading session times
We're getting closer!!! Thanks for that tip TJ. That will come in very handy in setting up fixed trading days and hours for each currency pair. The thing that is really confusing me is the concept of "exchange time"/"timezone" for each currency pair I trade. eg. I am going to be trading EUR/USD and ...

Print(Price) seen only as 2 decimal places instead of 4
Hi I'm a newby to Multicharts and currently have a hurdle which I'm stuck on. When I am in the Powerlanguage Editor and I'm using the print command, I notice that the price is presented only to 2 decimal places instead of 4. e.g. Print(Price) - is outputting 1.23 instead of 1.2398. Anyone know why? ...
