Re: Execute orders through TS Securities
I have tried the plug-in but it doesn't work well. You can get a free trial to test it. Should you try it and make it work, love to hear how!

Re: TD Ameritrade
Applause on working towards the TD Ameritrade connection. The only broker that allows trading of Stocks is IB, the others are data feeds, futures and forex. Thank you for the update.

TD Ameritrade
I received a reply from the API department. They said they have not heard from MultiCharts about their API. I forwarded the email to MC support. The stock brokerage offering is limited to IB. I think MC should commit to adding some stock brokers. At present I have my MC in mothballs and am using TS ...

Re: eSignal - Warning
My reason for contacting them was to try and route stock trades to a broker. MC only has IB and in today’s world they are to expensive when doing 1,000 plus trades a day.

Just got off the phone with eSignal. They will no longer support data or trade routing from any 3rd party software.

Re: Trade Summary Error
There is no way to fix it. You can delete specific files to start over. I have suggested that they make software changes to allow editing of the problem.

Re: Discrepancy: Realized Result vs. Post Trade Backtest
The chart is created using your data source. In this case I am calling it XYZ supplied by DTN. If at my broker the symbol to buy or sell XYZ is 123, then I map XYZ to 123. Every time an automated order takes place on the chart using XYZ DTN data, it will place the order using the prices from XYZ and...

Re: IB Chart Trading Issue
I am fairly certain that what is different with IB when compared to other firms I have traded MC with is their adding of commission costs. If you by 1 share of XYZ at $1.00, the open position shows $2.00 because there trading cost minimum is $1.00. In my test there were a number of single share posi...

Re: Interactive Brokers Strategy Automation Error [SOLVED]
Hi Shane, If not the latest IB gateway, I would uninstall the gateway, download and install the latest. Can't say if it is necessary or not, but the IB install video shows a different port number. https://www.multicharts.com/tutorials/ On the right pane look for IB. Might need to chat with support a...

Re: Interactive Brokers Strategy Automation Error [SOLVED]
Just tried mine. No issues.
1. Format Signals/Properties/Auto Trading - go to the bottom is your broker plugin set to IB?
2. Is the gateway port set proper? Do you have the API read only selected?

Re: Coding Pending orders: DAY/GTC
If your automated order set to GTC, and for clarity, should that bar be a 1 hour bar. Every hour you will get a new pending orders and the old orders will be cancelled.

Re: Coding Pending orders: DAY/GTC
If the code says buy at the high of the previous high, there is always going to be a pending order based on the previous high. Every bar will have a high. When the new high closes and upon the opening of the next bar, the order will be cancelled and a new one will take place. This has to take place ...

Re: Coding Pending orders: DAY/GTC
Your welcome, Basically... A Good Till Cancelled (GTC) order remains in the system until you cancels it. (unless OANDA has a limit to the number of days) Day orders are valid for the current trading day and expire at the end of the trading session if the order hasn't been executed. If you place it a...

Re: Coding Pending orders: DAY/GTC
As it relates to GTC, it will be cancelled once the bar your referencing has new bar with a different High. Same process for a short. Might run it on a OANDA demo using a 1 minute chart to see it in action.

Re: Separate data source/broker? Best futures data?
A suggestion would be to open an account with AMP Futures (or a company that is similar). You can select just CME,CBOE,NYMEX or COMEX , I think for $10 each or as a bundle for $31 a month. Those are the exchange fees. CQG gets paid cents per trade. While they claim there is no inactivity fee. I woul...

Re: 1 Day and 1440 minute different.
Digging a bit deeper. It seems to be tied to trading session times. If I change the session from the default exchange to 24hrs, it lines up. So the daily bars have a different cutoff time than the minute bars. Tried it with lower time frames and the same thing happens. Did the MA on a 720 min and it...

1 Day and 1440 minute different.
Old habit from long ago, I make my daily bars using 1440 minutes. Using the 1440 mins didn't seem right so I went to a daily and the issue corrected itself. It can be confirmed by applying a moving average set Price to low length 1. The workaround is simple.
