Newby question about chart using point as resolution
I was playing with resolution on a chart and I realised that i could display a chart using point.
Why is the length of a bar is 1/2 of the resolution selection
I did try with chart using
40 points: Bar length = 20 pip
30 points: Bar length = 15 pip
There is always a first time

Alarm when lost connection??? IS it possible
Hello
Did post a similar post on Forex Factorie. Please excuse any duplication.
Is it possible to have an alarm to be set if connection between MC and my broker IB (IB Gateway) is broken. Having that would put some peace of mind.
As usual, any input or idea appreciate.
Martin

Re: "IB Gateway" any pro & con?
OK Main problem with IB Gateway is that you dont get access to your live account info. These where available with TWS. Multicharts does not provide the info. I want to follow my margin usage before every trade to make sure that I don't use more than 50% of it in any time. Also, I'm experimenting con...

This setup that i described is valid for me as it is written. Nothing to add, plain and direct. Coding is...

Re: How to code for a retest of the low

My setup is strict and it is call a Fake Out: maybe i did not explain it well. Go long if price go below a previous pivot low. That is not The lowest pivot low, just a previous ...

Re: How to code for a retest of the low
Hello TJ Not sure if I understand your question. Both bar is a pivot. But to my opinion, waiting for a pivot is sometime to late. My idea is to test if the price of a bar cross below or jump above the first pivot . This is a setup that i use in manual trading. If price cross below a previous pivot l...

Any hint to start me on the code

Re: Restart auto-trading system without modifying the positi
I see :). That is answering my questioning about the mismatch position. Since I need to have the "Synch mode", I then need to close the position or manually follow it before starting the signal. Only start autotrading when position is flat on both side. Autofilled account position could be another r...

Hello
I just read the information about IB Gateway. This piece of software offer by IB is a substitute for TWS. Main advantage, no need to update or reload TWS every day
Any experience to share?

How to code for a Stop Limit Order
Hello
I just read in IB document that we can send a Stop Limit Order
If I understand well:
The stop will triggerd the lookout for the limit Price. This way, i could limit my slippage
If my understanding is ok, how do I code that?

A Bollinger Flag. My small contribution
Hello Here is my small contrubution to the forum. An idea that i had around the Bollinger band. A bollinger band is like a string of saussage. Expend for a while then retract. Good opportunity could be found when Bollinger band retract and trend toward the midline. My idea was to quantify the period...
