at the top right corner of each chart window, there is an icon of square with an arrow pointing out. Click on it and the chart window will detach from MC. You can then drag the chart to any monitor you like.

I noticed that if TWS gets disconnected (could be due to faulty internet line, or IB server reset), some of my charts will lock up.

all you need is to set your chart to 24hrs or RTH.

select Format Symbol,
choose Settings tab,

Hello, I can not open a QuoteManager in a new workspace, the QM window is all the time outside as a separate window. I want it inside like in MC 2.1.999.999. :( QuoteManager is a "global" service. It does not matter where it resides, any modification is applied to all the symbols in all the charts.

Don't sweat too much over them.

you can always go into the code with PLEditor and make changes. That's the beauty of Multicharts and Easylanguage script.

Go look for the keyword Playsound and change the parameters.

You can use Soundrecorder (comes with Windows) to recorder your own alert.

It seems that there is an issue with "Days Back", if you switch to bars back instead, it should bring up the chart. This is at least a fix for the moment.

My HSI daily chart won't draw today's bar. The price on the top is updating, but the bar stays at yesterday's position. This has happened many times before. when MC crashes, not all the modules are released from memory. When you re-start MC, the old modules will create conflict with the new ones.

The best way to start with a clean slate is to re-boot the computer.

I have experienced the same thing. Try setting "Format Price Scale.." to manual rather than automatic, that did the trick for me.

What you could do is edit the symbol. If you change the symbol name from the Sept. contract to the Oct. contract the settings for the Oct. contract will be the same as for the Sept. contract.

I found my CPU time is running close to 100% as well.
The biggest user is the MCACTI~1.EXE.

I have experimented with different indicators, the run rate is still very high. Even with just 1 wsp, 1 chart, 1 symbol, and 1 indicator, the CPU goes to 40% sometimes.

1. check your data feed. make sure it is online.
2. make sure you are subscribed to the exchange.
3. make sure the length of the data is available.

one way you can do this is to overlay a 5m chart on the 1min chart. Set the 5m chart to appear invisible. Plot the 5m MA and the MA will ride on the 1m chart correctly.

on the MA, check "Last Price Marker".

YOu will see the MA is using a different scale than the price bar.

YOu have to fix the price bar scale, then fix the MA scale on top of it.


p.s. the scale to symbol does not help, because you are using data 2 on chart 1.

you create a volume bar chart the same way you create a minute chart.

you create a volume bar chart from the very beginning, as soon as you specified a symbol, you go to specify whether it is a minute chart or a volume bar chart.

something similar happened to me.
I found out that the wsp ballooned to 24MB each, and I had 5~6 wsp opened at one time. You can see that I quickly ran out of memory.

To fix the problem, I deleted all the wsp and created the charts all over again.
my memory usage is back to normal now.

I had the same problem.

I started MC... chose "Off-line" data at the dialogue box.

I loaded the wsp... then MC popped open my IB log-in. I guess it is looking for live feed.

I have to shut down MC and restart it... then the wsp would load up from off-line data.
