I am using IB at the moment for trading and data. I would like a longer history for symbols such as ES, NQ, US Stocks, HSI, HHI.HK.
Do you know if any other decent vendors that offers longer history and free trials?
Thanks,
Brian
Data feed free trials?
Re: Data feed free trials?
Brian,
I know CQG only, offering a free trial for a limited number of exchanges via AMP or so.. From what I know, with DTN, eSignal and so on you would have to pay exchange fees, at least. I'm not 100% sure about that. Delivery of historical data is limited as well.
Regards.
Ben

The TICK data is 3 months.
After 21 days you can sign up for another.

Hello brianhclo,
You can find the list of all supported vendors and how much data they give away to MC here and the list of supported security types for them here.

Re: Data feed free trials?
Brian, you can get more historical data from IB directly. By default IB accounts have access to 1 year of historical data through API connection. That is possible to extend the amount of provided historical data (up to 5 years).
Please contact IB directly to setup your account for extended historical data through API.

I believe IQ Feed offers a free trial, but can't remember if it's two weeks or 30 days.

It used to be 30 days, should be the same now.I believe IQ Feed offers a free trial, but can't remember if it's two weeks or 30 days.
Re: Data feed free trials?
The last time I did a trial was June of 2013 so it may have changed. But free was free. I paid nothing. I've since subscribed to IQFeed every month since. I love their product. You're welcome to PM me if you have other specific questions.
