Hello
Missing data on all charts. IB, TWS is the data provider
MC stayed open while the link to the data provider, IB TWS, was closed, When I restarted TWS, The charts was missing the out of data period.
I reload all charts, still missing. I closed MC then re-istarted the charts, still missing
Showing ticks charts seem to show all data

Make sure you have checked the option to "Download Missing Historical Data".

Hello Martin,
Please update your Java and restart the TWS. Then reload the missing data period in MultiCharts.

Re: Missing data:Is there a procedure? Reload not resolving
I have had the exact same problem with gaps when I used to have QM running. I no longer use QM to collect real time data and that has fixed my problem. I think this is some kind of MC bug.yesThanks Henry. Martin, how about you?
Re: Missing data:Is there a procedure? Reload not resolving
Well even I closed the QM and some of the bars are still missing, it happened before, when there was an update with the new java. And everytime there's some kind of fix being posted in the forum for how to fix it. Also, I am running the most updated standalone version of TWS too.
Re: Missing data:Is there a procedure? Reload not resolving
MC team question:
How is built the data file used to draw a chart
Is it from tick value, or from minutes or both meaning one file for ticks and one for minutes?
If I'm looking at a tick charts, all data seem to be present. Meaning a refresh was done and missing data was captured.
http://my.jetscreenshot.com/21599/20150402-fno1-119kb
Same chart, but using a timed chart. We could see that the timed data was not updated

So, is it on MC side that the problem reside where MC does not send the request for missing data or from TWS (IB server) that does not acknowledge the request

Re: Missing data:Is there a procedure? Reload not resolving
Hello Martin,
There are three base resolutions - tick, minute, day. All resolutions are built using this base data.
You need to restart all MultiCharts processes and force data request from IB servers by doing reload on your minute chart with missing data.

Thanks, I will do but: QuestionHello Martin,

Why then the tick chart is reloaded and not the minute charts?
If thick chart do relaod, then same process should be applied to all database.
Did close all MC process and restart
Missing data was replaced, exept for the last bar

I understand that this process need to be done only when the market is closed. Otherwise, we will recover historical data, but still missing the data lost during the MC closout procedure

Re: Missing data:Is there a procedure? Reload not resolving
Martin,
When you do a reload - only charts with related resolutions are replotted. If you reload a tick chart - all tick based charts for this instrument will be updated with the loaded data.
Minute based charts will not be reloaded in such case. That is expected behavior.
That is not necessary to do a reload only when the market is closed. MultiCharts is able to properly link historical and realtime data on your chart without missing any bars.
From your screenshots it looks like the main issue is still not resolved - the data provider does not return some bars between realtime and history. Please make sure your Java, TWS and MultiCharts are up to date. Then reload (View->Reload->1 day back) your minute chart. This solution has already worked for all other users with this issue. If the issue is still present on your end - please come to our live chat.
