I think he means the ability to Layer colors so that you can see all of the studies through multiple layers of color at the same time.
NT has this ability as well as many other platforms. It allows you to shade color across the chart for different session times, trending periods etc, while still being able to see moving averages, text, background etc. through the color.
In MC we can manually select what order the solid colors are in but not see "through" the colors. (Unless I just haven't figured out how yet).
An example: Placing color bands to designate session times trend etc, on top of the background color and still see the background color through them.
