no matter what I try, I get the following error when I compile a study, function or indicator:
------ Compiled with error: ------
Compile error
errLine 0, errColumn 0, errLineEnd 0, errColumnEnd 0
causal study: (Function)
Even if I open an existing indicator and try to compile it. Driving me crazy!

Re: newby compile error
That sounds bizarre - maybe you need to uninstall and reinstall the platform?
Re: newby compile error
I re-ran the installer and did a "repair" but same problem. What a pain. Seems like a bug.

can you post a sample indicator that gave you compile error?I re-ran the installer and did a "repair" but same problem. What a pain. Seems like a bug.

Re: newby compile error
Agree with TJ. Post the code.
If that's happening, it's not a bug - the software is broken. Have you tried running it on a different PC and see if it happens? I've run the software on two PCs (one at home and one at work) and everything has worked great. What OS are you using?

Re: newby compile error
It does not matter what the code of the indicator is - ALL indicators from the library do this when I attempt to recompile. (of course, if you are going to try to re-compile one of the existing indicators, you have to make a change to it, then replace your change.)
Like this code for example:
plot5 (Close) ;
-------------------27.11.10 06:31:31
------ Build started: ------
Study: "GregPlotTest" (Indicator)
Please wait ....
------ Compiled with error(s): ------
Compile error
errLine 0, errColumn 0, errLineEnd 0, errColumnEnd 0
causal study: (Function)

Re: newby compile error
Very very strange. Again, have you tried running it on a different machine? Or do you only have one machine at your disposal?
Re: newby compile error
i only have one machine available right now. I run Windows XP in Parallels on Mac OSX. I ran a demo version of MC a few months ago and didn't have any issues with compiling. I have 'repaired' the application a few time, re-started, etc and it won't work. I want to avoid deleting MC from my system and a total re-install because I have a pile of data imported, etc.

This is a known issue. Please come to our Live Chat between 6:30AM and 11AM EST so we can connect to your computer remotely and fix it.
Re: newby compile error
I completely removed MC from my system and did a new re-install and it works now.
