hi,
I am using esignal feed.
The symbol Root for Mini Nikkei 225 contract traded on OSM is NI225_M
As can be seen from the attached file, under "Add Custom Futures" within the Symbol Root listbox, NI225_M is NOT available .
Only NI225 which is the big nikkei is available.
Please rectify.
thanks

Re: Cannot create custom futures for symbol Root NI225_M
Hello Aljafp,
If the symbol root you need is not present in the Symbol Dictionary list in the QuoteManager - it should be added manually.
But regarding NI225_M root here is an extract from the CF guide: The root name should not contain following symbols <;> <:> <=> <!> <_> <”>. Custom Futures cannot be created for such symbols.

Symbol Root for NI225_M is already added into QuoteManager which is why i can plot it as an individual contract fine.Hello Aljafp,

The problem is that NI225_M cannot be found in the Symbol Root list box for creating custom symbols.
This looks like a design restriction caused within Multicharts.
There is nothing stopping data feed vendors from creating symbols with "_" in its SymbolRoot
Especially nowadays when exchanges may create mini contracts data vendors may just add a "_M" behind the original contract symbol root.
Any work arounds ?
thanks

Rename the symbol root from NI225_M into NI225M (for ex.). Change the symbol root for all instruments using it in QuoteManager. Select NI225M symbol root for Custom Futures instrument and you will be able to plot it in MultiCharts.
