I need to move most of my data in my 12gig 7.4 32 database to MC 8 64
exporting instruments caused problems when I last tried a couple of months ago.
I believe I need to perform an operation to reduce the database size first before exporting instruments.
Is there a guide- link to this procedure please.

Re: Transferring data to MC8 64
I ran the gbak_x32.bat file it took a few minutes
However the DataUpdater.exe: seemed to run a dialog only for a moment.
As the instructions stated it will take some time I assume there was a problem.
The database remains at 13gig

Note: Take into account that if you use a 32-bit version of MultiCharts then use "gbak_x32.bat".
It is extremely important to open MultiCharts installation folder and run DataUpdater.exe:
MultiCharts 32 bit on Windows 64 bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\TS Support\MultiCharts
A window will be opened where you can see the procedure progress. If the database is big, then it will take some time (especially the first stage). Do not touch anything. Once the procedure is over, the window will be closed.""

That is ok. If the databases are functioning properly in MultiCharts now-then there were no problems.I ran the gbak_x32.bat file it took a few minutes

Re: Transferring data to MC8 64
I have done the database transfer following the guide "How to Migrate from MultiCharts 32 bit to MultiCharts 64 bit".
But it was noted that some of the "quote data" is missing in the new 64bit quote manager while I can still see the data in the 32bit quote manager. I have tried repair the installation, rerun the "gbak_x32" and/or "gbak_x64.bat" a few times but it is still so. Any hints what might be the problem?

Are you using the same databases in MC 32 bit and MC 64 bit reduced size with gbak?I have done the database transfer following the guide "How to Migrate from MultiCharts 32 bit to MultiCharts 64 bit".

Or 32 bit version is using original databases?
Re: Transferring data to MC8 64
Received the analysis result from Katrin that the error is caused by my corrupted database. But it's really strange that I can actually access the data in the 32bit quote manager. Now I am exporting the data from the 32bit quote manager and imported the into the 64bit one.
