Hi, this morning I have the message 'There is no conection to the digital rights management server. No real-time data will be available'. It is no firewall issue.
I understand that you have to protect your software against misuse. On the other hand this is a no-go for realtime trading software. Is there a solution to avoid this?

Re: No Connection to DRMS !
lantama,It was my DSL provider. Not your fault, sorry.
But anyway, in general this could be an issue. Is there something like a locally stored license or dongle?

as far as I know there are three servers managing the authentication. They are at different locations, making it less unlikely that all three go down at the same time. Of course this is not a 100% sure solution, but probably as close as you can get. Since MC introduced DRM and the initial problems were ironed out, I never had any issues with it.
Thus making it a good compromise between user inconvenience (almost non existent) and developers protection needs.

I didn't knew that, but that's good to know there are multiple servers at multiple locations. Thanks ABC.as far as I know there are three servers managing the authentication. Re: No Connection to DRMS !
I just checked not to spread any rumors and here is a quote from Stan Bokov: "We have three redundant servers in different locations of United States, with different internet providers. When one servers malfunctions all users are automatically redirected to the remaining two."I didn't knew that, but that's good to know there are multiple servers at multiple locations. Re: No Connection to DRMS !
If you have problems with connection to MultiCharts authorization servers to verify your license, please make sure you are able to open the following pages in your web browser:
Port numbers 80 and 443 should be open.
Re: No Connection to DRMS !
I'm unable to get the servers to verify my registration; everytime I try, a message reports that MC is waiting for the servers. Are all three servers offline? Please advise on next steps. Thanks

My MultiCharts is verified and connected right now.I'm unable to get the servers to verify my registration; everytime I try, a message reports that MC is waiting for the servers. Are all three servers offline? Please advise on next steps. Thanks
Please reboot your computer, as well as your internet router/modem.

I just checked. No conflicts with 80 and 443. Nevertheless, every time I try to register my copy of Multicharts I get, "Waiting for Status from Server."

I did a complete power cycle. Same result. So frustrating!

You should check to make sure you have added the following URL in your anti-virus/firewall as safe sites:It's a new computer, but the anti-virus/firewall configuration is the same.did you update or make changes to your anti-virus and/or firewall?

Re: No Connection to DRMS !
Well, I appreciate everyone's help, but I've exhausted every remedy. I've even done a complete wipe/re-install of windows. No dice. The Multicharts servers are not responding.
I realize there's a need for anti-piracy. The problem is when it interferes with those of us who've paid up and are just trying to scratch out a living. If Multicharts is having server problems (and, for the life of me, I can't see where the problem would be on this end), I hope these problems get addressed, and soon. That said, someone should also be available on tech support standby whenever the markets are open. The fact that this kind of thing can happen during market hours, with no support option...yikes!

If you are the only one reporting problem, and you have a new computer, I can only guess that something in your new computer is blocking access to the authentication servers.
Do you still have your old computer? Does MultiCharts connect ok with the old computer?
No need to get frustrated, there has to be a solution.
Please see if you can ping https://mcauth2.com/

Something else in your computer is preventing your MultiCharts access.
What is your OS?
Are you log in as Administrtator?
Did you install MultiCharts as Administrator?
Did you start MultiCharts as Administrator?
Have you enabled UAC User Account Control?
What AV and Firewall are you using?

Re: No Connection to DRMS ! [SOLVED]
User ID and MultiCharts Registration code should not be mixed up during the authorization process.
User ID is a 10 digit number that can be found in Help tab->About MultiCharts. This is a unique number generated based on your PC hardware and software. It is used for MultiCharts trial and addon protection. It is not used for MultiCharts licensed user authorization.
MultiCharts Registration code is a 16 digit number that is sent to you once you purchase MultiCharts license. It is used only for MultiCharts authorization and can be retrieved only by contacting our support department via email.
