Hello,
I send you this mail because a have a little problem with the market data connectivity.
So when a connect TWS to Multichart, I have the following error message:
-"market data farm connection is broken:cashfarm"
-"HMDS data farm connection is broken:euhmds"
So in spite the fact that I added more RAM to my VPS and the fact that I changed my VPS,
the problems of connectivity still appears.
The deconnection occurs often at 08:55:31 PM it is always at this time that I have the problem.
So are there other IB+MC users that have the same problem.
I really think that it is a MC problem or a IB problem and not the VPS.
Please let me know if there is a solution.
Rgds,
Connectivity problem

Rgds,
Where are you?
Or I should ask... where is your VPS?
Is this a new problem? or have you always been getting this disconnect?
Are you aware that IB reboots their server once every day?
If you are using TWS, you are automatically kicked out every 24 hours. You did not say if you have a process to reconnect.
Which IB server do you connect to? USA? UK? HK?
Which time zone is this 08:55:31 PM ?
Which exchanges do you trade on?
Do you get this disconnect if you trade from home?
ps. For trading purposes, I would get a dedicated server instead of a shared device. In a shared device, you are at the mercy of other people's stupidity. They say you will never be affected, but how could you be sure?
VPS is OK for websites where you are merely streaming contents. Trading is a critical activity, why would you trust your trading activities to a shared server that you have no control over? I would hate to see the server gets a reboot because of problems outside of your domain. Just my thoughts. YMMV.

A VPS is a computer shared by more than one user.
Usually it runs on Linux, with Windows overlaid on top of it.
Most of the webpages on the internet are sitting on VPS.
The problem with VPS for trading is that, if your shared buddy(s) happened to have a heavy load at the critical moment, your trading could be affected.
Re: Connectivity problem
Ok thank you TJ
Yes I saw that there is a daily reboot done by IB every day at the same time.
Do you know if there is a solution to avoid this reboot of IB server?

Re: Connectivity problem
If you are mainly trading ES, you should use the USA server. It does not affect your base currency, or your account for that matter. It is only a datafeed source.Ok thank you TJ

Rgds,
I am not aware of a way around the IB daily reboot.

Rgds,
Did you get a solution for this problem, as I have the same annyoing messages everyday and hadn't the time yet to contact IB.
@Multicharts: Is there a way to supress IB API error messages? Black or Whitelist IB API error codes would be really great.

Re: Connectivity problem
An option to disable these messages will be added in MultiCharts 9.1 beta 1. There is no ETA for this version at the moment.@Multicharts: Is there a way to supress IB API error messages? Black or Whitelist IB API error codes would be really great.
