Latest IB TWS software Updater [SOLVED]
IB released its "new style" standalone TWS software, with this TWS installed Multicharts.Net always popup warning message "Interactive Brokers Client software is not installed or incompatible. Please install latest version of client software"... I can not download old version TWS software from IB web site now, so where can I get an compatible TWS software?

I found it's best to save the older TWS versions just for this reason. I currently use TWS from August..you might be able to find it on the web. I use build 952.1a ..

Hi,
Please download the file corresponding to your version of MultiCharts (with PowerLanguage) and unzip it to your PC.
Then follow the installation guide:

Once that is done you will be able to connect to the latest versions of IB TWS.
This improvement will be included in the next version of MutliCharts.
Builds 12410/12411 or subsequent do not require this updater.

This solution did not work for me. The updater said the process was "Done". I also tried manually replacing the .dll file with the new one.

Are you running a web based version of TWS? If yes then go to QuoteManager->Tools->Data sources->IB->Settings->Click on reset button. Then click Ok.
Then again go to QuoteManager->Tools->Data sources->IB->Settings and select "I use web based TWS".

The updaters in my posts above have been replaced with the ones that have the IB Gateway support added.

* Make sure that you install the proper update, 32bit or 64bit for your version of MC.

I've noticed that the new TWS software automatically updates itself. I haven't checked but I presume one could go back to the previous release if necessary. I can see a potential issue where something is broken and MC won't work with it properly after an update, unless this can never happen because IB have done something different with their new software.

I've noticed the auto updates as well.. Just in case of a "bad" update, I keep older, stable versions that I can re-install if necessary..
The "previous version" and "Gateway" versions are also available in the IB folder(under Applications) installed on your PC.

I've noticed on the TWS download site there are two versions. One is the auto-update version and the other does not auto update. The latter is called the "offline TWS". The description says:
The offline installer contains everything needed to install and run the selected TWS version. The Offline installation will not update automatically. If a new version of TWS is published, you will need to manually download and install the Offline program again. If you prefer to have TWS auto-update, install one of the updating versions above.
So effectively there are three options. One, run the old Java version. Two, run the standalone auto-update version. Three, run the standalone and offline version. What I'll do is run the second one and if I encounter any issues I will then run the third one. Each time the second one updates and still works, I will update the third one manually to keep things up-to-date. I will keep the older installation files for option three just in case.

If that is the case, any way of downgrading MC from 64 to 32 without loosing the settings, databases, workspaces, etc. ?

You need to run the updater for 64 bit MultiCharts on your desktop.

Something got messed up in my main trading PC and I had to re-install MC and TWS.
I have the correct settings in the TWS API. TWS runs fine.
Windows 7 (64-bit)
MultiCharts64 Version 9.1 Release (Build 12010) (EL version, not .NET)
Java 64-bit was installed with the latest 64-bit edition today.
Error message when I attempt to add a symbol from IB with QuoteManager:

Please contact IB directly and ask them to resolve the issue with your Trader Workstation.I have uninstalled all the old versions but the problem persists
Once it is resolved, please update your MultiCharts version to the latest 9.1 Release to resolve the issue appeared after TWS major upgrade:
