MultiCharts is displaying error messages that it cannot access the Currency Conversion Server (whatever that is?).
The error message is being displayed on IQFeed Symbols for the EUREX Futures, BD, EX and XG.
Why is this error message being displayed?
What is the Currency Conversion Server?
What is the Currency Conversion Server used for?
What do we need to do to get around the error?
The error message also says, "Calculation will be stopped."
What calculations are stopped?
Why does MultiCharts not publish detailed information/documentation someplace, about the error messages that are displayed by the app?
Thank you.

Re: MultiCharts Cannot Access Currency Conversion Server
Hello,
The error message is being displayed in case Currency Conversion Server cannot be accessed within a specified timeout. Currently the timeout is set to 30 seconds. It will be possible to increase the timeout in the next version which will be released within a week. This option will be added in File -> Preferences -> Currency Conversion Tab.
Why is this error message being displayed?
Currency Conversion server is used for converting the currency if Base/Preferred Currency is different from symbol currency in QuoteManager. You can read more about Currency Conversion here: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... Conversion
What is the Currency Conversion Server?
What is the Currency Conversion Server used for?
In the upcoming release, it will be possible to select currency conversion server. Currently only MCFX server can be used for currency conversion. If you have an account with IB or LMAX, you will be able to select their data feed for currency conversion: File -> Preferences -> Currency Conversion Tab. Please check our blog to monitor the release of a new version: https://www.multicharts.com/traders-blog/
What do we need to do to get around the error?
When the error message appears, it indicates that the signal calculation will stop as there is no data for conversion. Therefore, the signal will be turned off and auto-trading will be disabled. The error message also says, "Calculation will be stopped."
What calculations are stopped?
Thanks for a great suggestion. We are going to work on an article in our Wiki with an overview of all possible errors that may appear in MultiCharts. Why does MultiCharts not publish detailed information/documentation someplace, about the error messages that are displayed by the app?
Re: MultiCharts Cannot Access Currency Conversion Server
Thank you, Kristina, for the very detailed and helpful explanation of the Currency Converter. We also thank you for explaining the current plans in the near future of its use.
So, from what I gather, the Currency Conversion Server would only be accessed for non-USD denominated Futures Contracts (e.g., EUREX contracts denominated in Euros, NIKKEI Yen contract denominated in Yen, etc.), correct?
I only see an issue if, for example, a DAX contract is set up for autotrading and suddenly the Currency Conversion Server become unavailable while trades are active in the market with autotrading turned on, and MultiCharts' action is then to shut down the Signal/Strategy. Or does the Currency Conversion Server only get accessed when the Signal/Strategy is first loaded on the workspace, prior to initiating and turning on autotrading?
Again, many thanks for your continuing help and assistance. Much appreciated!

Re: MultiCharts Cannot Access Currency Conversion Server
Hello,
Currency conversion server will be used in all the cases when Base Currency/Preferred Currency is set to a currency that is different from your symbol currency.
So, from what I gather, the Currency Conversion Server would only be accessed for non-USD denominated Futures Contracts (e.g., EUREX contracts denominated in Euros, NIKKEI Yen contract denominated in Yen, etc.), correct?
In the upcoming release an option “Allow calculation if Currency Conversion data is incomplete” will be added in File -> Preferences -> Currency Conversion Tab. It will allow to continue auto-trading and calculate the signals with previous currency conversion data and do not disable auto-trading in case Currency Conversion server cannot be accessed.I only see an issue if, for example, a DAX contract is set up for autotrading and suddenly the Currency Conversion Server become unavailable while trades are active in the market with autotrading turned on, and MultiCharts' action is then to shut down the Signal/Strategy.
