Hi,
I'm using a Data2 in ASCII for trading and I'm wondering if there's a better way to have a Data2 as I would like it to be realtime 1 minute bars without needing to hit refresh every time.
I know there were some hacks a year ago to refresh automatically but I don't think it was very reliable. Is there an alternative to ASCII as I can change the source as needed?
Thanks!

Re: Custom Data in Realtime?
Hello, shane1800!
Please provide more details about this:
1) what data source is used for Data1?
2) do you mean that for Data2 you use ASCII mapping? If so, why do you say that you need to reload it each time? ASCII data functionality allows for streaming the ASCII data into MultiCharts in realtime. If you file is updated and mapped properly in MultiCharts, then the data should be coming fine. Please describe the difficulty with this.
3) what “hacks” are you referring to please? Who suggested them to you and why?

Re: Custom Data in Realtime?
Hi Anna,
Ok I'm just reading about the real time feature of ASCII mapping. Will try that out first. I was adding data in a delayed method.
For hacks I have seen ways to command a fresh of charts based on the time. I may not need that.
