Import symbol list
Import symbol list
How does one import symbols. Created symbols in MC Version 3 and then installed Ver 4 beta 1. Backed up the prebuilt workspaces but have to redo the symbols again in Quotemanager.

Hi pipsqueek,
Unless you removed your user data, upgrade should have kept all of your symbols and data for them. They should be still there in QuoteManager.
However, if you have ASCII files with the names of the symbols that you need added, you will be able to map those files, have all the symbols added at once and then just change the data provider for them.

Hi zukkaweb,
For example, you have ASCII files containing symbol names (you can create those files in excel very quickly).
The files should contain:
symbol name, date, time, open, high, low, closen (if you're using files just for the sake of adding symbols, don't worry about the accuracy of those values)
Then, in QuoteManager go to File -> Map ASCII. Browse to the folder that has all those files. Check the option "Get Symbol From File's Field".
As you map those files they will be automatically added into QM. You will You will then be able to bulk-edit them by choosing your data provider instead of ASCII mapping.
I hope the above explanation is clear enough.
Best regards.
