Hi there,
Please add the HKFE listed HANG SENG CHINA ENTERPRISE INDEX Futures contract. The IB symbol for it is HHI.HK . On some days, this is now doing more daily volume than the commonly known Hang Seng (HSI) so it needs to be added.
Thank you.
All my best,
MK

Hello MidKnight,
Your request has been forwarded to our developers. This symbol root will be added in one of the future versions.

HANG SENG CHINA ENTERPRISE INDEX now sees more volume than the Hang Seng Index - is this added to the custom futures symbol root yet? I'm running a stable version behind at the moment just because life has been really buys since moving house.....
Thanks in advance for the reply,
MK

You can create an own custom futures symbol for that, though you might need to add the required symbol to the Symbol Dictionary first.HANG SENG CHINA ENTERPRISE INDEX now sees more volume than the Hang Seng Index - is this added to the custom futures symbol root yet?
Takes around half an hour per symbol (including testing) - quicker than having to wait for a feature request.

The root is called HHI.HK. if you already had such symbol root in your dictionary then it will not be rewritten.
Re: Custom Futures Symbol Root, please add...
I never went ahead and did as JoshM suggested above because you posted it would be added to version 8.8 and since I was going to be upgrading once to the latest release once it was stable I waited. I don't see it in my list Henry.

Re: Custom Futures Symbol Root, please add...
MidKnight, have you replaced the databases files after updating to MC 8.8 ?
Re: Custom Futures Symbol Root, please add...
Hmmm, OK that could be the issue.
In my previous versions of MC I have the database moved to my D: in the same installation directory as the application - as it should be IMO and not in in a separate installation on C: as you guys do. Anyhow, so I did upgrade to version 8.8 and had to edit the registry again to point to my own database location. You are saying that these symbol definitions are in the database structure? I'm not sure....
If someone followed your directions here:
How does one keep these symbol roots (and anything else you guys update in these files) up to date between successive software version upgrades?
With kind regards,
MK

Re: Custom Futures Symbol Root, please add...
MidKnight, symbol dictionary file is stored in the databases folder.
The behavior you have experienced is caused by the fact that the path to the databases has been changed in the registry.
We are going to improve this behavior in one of the future versions of MultiCharts (the path to the databases will not be reset and your symbol dictionary file will receive newly added roots when MC is updated).
Until this improvement is implemented you will need to change the path to your databases upon update.
That can be done from MultiCharts GUI (File->Preferences->Directories).
In order to get the symbol root now - please import the attached QMD file.

I've download the HHI.HK.zip and add into my MC8.5 successfully.
Could you help to export the qdm of "MCH.HK"(Mini Hang Seng China Enterprises Index)?
Thanks~
