I am new here and new to Multicharts
I just have downloaded the free Version
I have a papertrading Account with Interactivebrokers
How can I connect continuously to the ( delayed, but free ) Quotes of any
possible financial Instrument and any Market, available on IB ?
Will I have to update every Time I start the Multichart?
Thanks for any Help

Re: How to connect to Interactivebrokers continuously for Da
would it make a big Change in the configurations, if one uses delayed quotes or realtime quotes?

Hi there,
No there is no difference in terms of your MC.net config, but you will need to config the TWS for each account (paper vs real accounts). If you want the best data consistency, it is advised that you get your historical data from the real account. Quite a few years ago I recall an IB rep openly stating on the Elite Trader forum that ticks are regularly dropped from the simulated feed under certain load conditions. Because of this, I'd make sure to reload the data at least weekly via your real account.
With kind regards,
MK

If you have delayed realtime data then follow this guide to configure the data connection:
https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... ve_Brokers
Realtime data will start on your chart after a certain timeout. Basically you can compare the time in the status line of the chart with your local PC time or Exchange time. Time delta is the time you need to wait for realtime updates.
Delayed historical data is not supported and cannot be accessed in MultiCharts.
