Hello everyone, in Portfolio Trader I would like to limit the number of concurrent open positions, and this number has to be calculated on the basis of the overall open risk.
Example:
Let's say I have 5 different trading systems running on a total of 100 stocks, thus 25 per system.
Say that each of the 5 systems has its own stop loss ranging between 300 and 1000 USD per position.
Say that if the overall number of open position exceed 2% of trading capital, no new position can be opened, regardless the trading system has a new signal.
Hae no idea how this could be done but think it's possible.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Leo,
You can use Portfolio Money Management signals.
You can find the Wiki section dedicated to PMM Keywords here, or you can find more info in the PowerLanguage Editor Dictionary.

Re: Limiting number of open positions
Portfolio Trader seems to be lacking in this very basic functionality, making it virtually useless.
1. There seems to be no way to see the number of positions currently held at one time (it is possible to see how many strategies are active- but that doesn't help).
2. When a signal is issued for the following bar, there is no way to limit the number of new entries.
Has anyone found a way to do this?
