MC vs MC.net

Postby joebone » 01 Feb 2024

Hello,
I have been using MC for years and have several licenses. I was curious about transitioning to the .net framework. Does the software run with a mostly identical framework? Is it substantially faster?

Hello joebone,

Regular MultiCharts and MultiCharts .NET are almost identical in terms of functionality and features, but they use different programming languages.
  • With regular MultiCharts you can create a study using EasyLanguage/PowerLanguage.
  • With MultiCharts .NET you can create a study using C# or VisualBasic.Net.
MultiCharts .NET gives you more programming possibilities, that is possible to create more sophisticated tools and solve complex goals with it, while PowerLanguage which is used in regular MultiCharts is a more user-friendly and simple to understand language.
Studies from MC .NET cannot be used in regular MultiCharts and viсe versa.

joebone,

The Optimization functionality is the same in both versions so there is not much difference in the optimization speed.
