When will be the next MultiChart Update ?
Hi,
Can I know when will be the next MultiChart Update ? I ask this because my labeling are not working properly.
I look forward to your reply.
Regards.

I've got to support the vendor here.
It is gracious and helpful to offer insight into current estimates of when a new release is expected. Most vendors won't even do this at all.
It's s given that some of those estimates will not come true, that's the nature of the software development challenge.
An estimate is not a promise, it's just an estimate.
I, for one, appreciate a vendor who is willing to communicate this fully. Why criticize someone for doing their best to answer a question that has been asked? Instead, I applaud this!
As much as we all (myself incl.) would like to have "more, perfected, yesterday", I'd still prefer a good faith estimate that doesn't get met to a stony silence (which is the industry norm).

The next version will feature not only Vista compatibility, but also will use multi-cores machines almost to their full extent when performing brute force optimization. We are also improving the drawing tools according to our users' requests. Other features and bug fixes will be listed when the new installer is ready. What new features and bug fix will be included in this release ?
OR is vista compatibility the only reason for this release ?
Damageboy,You need to get your stories straight...
Promising something and then not delivering it is NOT RIGHT.
We are working hard to make things ready till the ETA but it is only estimated time and sometimes we have to prolong a release date to perform additional testing or make other improvements.

Please also fix the Bar trouble. The rounded corners just drive me up the wall. I keep on seeing ZERO values crossing the ZERO line !!!
Please see attachment for example.

This is what really got me frustrated dealing with MultiChart -- you people are so insensitive to the customer's needs.TJ,
These rounded bars will be fixed not in the next but in future releases. But it is only a visual effect and shouldn't influence indicators.
I have asked about this problem many times. There is never any response. I was stonewalled !
OF COURRSE I know there is NOTHING wrong with the indicator.
THe purpose of the graph is to show me the DATA, so that I can make timely trading decisions.
e.g. When a DATA is in NEGATIVE territory, i.e. below ZERO, I have to take a different action than when the DATA is in positive territory.
THe way you draw the round edge bars forces the bar to spill over to areas that it does not belong. This in turn makes it DIFFICULT for me to make trading decisions.
The problem is not just around the ZERO area. Because tHe top of the bar is rounded, I get a WRONG reading as well. e.g. if a DATA goes over 10, it trigger a trading signal for me. BUT when the bar goes to 9.70, the bar might LOOK like it is OVER 10 because the top is ROUNDED.
Can you see the problem this simple error caused ???
this problem is even more pronounced if I have a thick bar !
HOW difficult is it to fix this problem? THis is only one small tick in the configuration box and the problem is solved !!!!
I am really upset because simple things that should work but don't work.

Our developers would have fixed this problem long ago if it were so easy to resolve. MultiCharts has a lot of objects and it is difficult to make them all flat. Be sure that we keep this problem in mind and don't underestimate its importance.

Maybe just do data series and "high low" plot types to start? Hi-Lo should get histograms too shouldn't it?

Re: openecry support?
Yes. I will be one of the first to test it out. I hope you all have tested it out both historical and real-time feeds. I will certainly be working them with OEC.Yes, the next version will support OpenECry.Will there be openEcry support?
every 2 weeks ?!?! what for ?
can't you guys let them concentrate to do their work ?[/quote]
Case in point. When I tested out OEC plugin. If users waited until the next release, they would have been disappointed when the errors of logging in and downloading a lot of symbols took place.
The point of the betas for any software vendor is to allow users to work on new or existing feature bugs as they come along early. For a charting package, once a month minimum for a beta, build, etc is not uncommon.
Then once you get something you feel comfortable with, then you can release the next stable version

Yeah. I had to learn the hard way. Anything not built-in had to be recompiled. We'll see what happens. The beta looks good for now..

V2.0 is the release versiona new beta ?!?!
I thought you went gold.
if we are back to beta, will there be a price decrease ?
V2.1 is a beta presumably it will eventually become release version 3. (or maybe release version 2.5)
If you do not want to participate in the beta stick with the release version. Problem is because of the size of TSSuport I doubt they will issue seperate maintenance versions to the release platform and have a seperate beta build. Put another way if you want the latest fixes your gonna need to use the beta.
Cheers.

Re: Does this version inclues the IB patch ???
Yes, it includes the patch for TWS 870 and next.Does this version inclues the IB patch ???
Josh,What happened to the e-mail that was supposed to be sent to everyone regarding the new release? I was thinking you all never released the beta or new version yet.
We decided to wait a few days before sending notifications as we'd like to make sure that everything functions well and without errors.
