I just lost Digital Rights Management Authentication tp MC 8.5 Release on this PC as I was changing symbols. My green alert went yellow and my MC reverted to an evaluation version. I tried inputing the license again but it said there was no connection to theDRM.
I restarted MC and licensing came back and restarted autotrading. I'm concerned about this behaviour in case it had happened while I was away from the screen and was auto trading.
Anyone else affected like this?

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
I'm having the same issue and it's not firewall or anti virus because it happens randomly (the only thing new is a new scanning I created in Multicharts).
If I try to login in in Multicharts I get an error as well.
Internet is also OK. I'm navigating without problems and ping to multicharts.com works correctly.
Any idea why is this ?

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
Any updates on what caused this?
I am yet to suffer this issue but have heard colleagues suffer from this recently.
Would be great to get some reassurances from MC that they are investigating it at least.

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
I just lost Digital Rights Management Authentication on two of my live servers, which are located at different data centres. Connection seemed to be re-connected an hour or so later. During that time all auto trading is switched off, which in my opinion should definitely not occur as live positions need to be managed. The bigger problem at the moment is after restarting both servers, and opening MC as normal, there seems to be a limit to how many workspaces I can open before MC seems to check for license authentication and freezes. When I check License Manager in the help menu, it says 'No licences available'. This occurs on both servers, so there still seems to be an issue with the digital rights authentication.
*EDIT*
Now all my servers, in different locations are failing to connect to authorization server.

Dear users,
The Saturday downtime was due to the maintenance work performed on our authorization server.
It was shortly fixed by our specialists. Please restart MultiCharts if you still experience any issues with authorization.

Hi kagein,
It was not a scheduled one, but it was required to be performed immediately as a preventative action.

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
This issue show us again that to cut autotrading with an authentification failed is a big mistake from MC dev.
When you start MC and run autotrading at start, MC control rights ok ? if rights are ok autotrading start ok ?
then if during the day auth fail its not custumer side of course ! then don't STOP autotrading , why you need to control auth so often ?
Can You realy authenficate yours reals customers ?
most of customers who run autotrading use VPS then it's easy to put their IP in whitelist , no ?

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
I agree with this, its absolutely madness, to shut down MC and stop autotrading, after it already have been authorized at start.
We as traders when auto trading live, already spending huge amount of time and money to reduce risks, this, is a huge risk that we are unable to mitigate.
I cant see, any , ANY reason .. why you need to authentificate a user logged in, after the fact that you already authentificated the user at the first login.
Why ? Why expose us as users to this HUGE risk of loosing connection to your digitial right managment when live auto trading.
Its madness.
Authentificate the user at login, thats it.OR if you must, everytime a user launches an instance.
But not, NOT, when MC just is idle and trading.

AGREE 100 % , because most of the time we don't loose connection with our broker ! only MC auth servers ....I agree with this, its absolutely madness, to shut down MC and stop autotrading, after it already have been authorized at start.

Hello Smoky and Salzburg,
Such an authorization system was implemented for security reasons.
I’ve shared your feedback with the development team, they’ll evaluate possible ways we can improve it.

Nice Kate, security reasons for your company , we andestand, you don't want to be cracked, but yours custumers also need security about their trades execution in autotrading.Hello Smoky and Salzburg,

Re: Lost Digital Rights Management Authentication
It is prudent therefore that traders place stop loss order for protection in case they loose the ability to close an order automatically, be it due to a bad internet connection, crashed computer or MC disabling activity due to loss of licence server access.
