I just check the help and this little trick I found is not in there.
If you zoom the charts often as I do you will find the spyglass is in the way of the cross hair. If you want to remove the spyglass but keep the cross hair there press the + key and it goes away until you move the cross hair again. The same holds true of the other cursor types without the zoom in effect. You may find that the "-" key which is beside the "+" key is the one that works instead. You might find you have to press either of these keys a second time.
John.
Zoom tip not in the help.

I find this a little confusing. Isn't this the way it works as standard by dragging the mouse? What is the difference between the standard way to zoom a rectangular area and the one you want? Did I miss read it? Is it that the only change that you want is a one click to return to normal option.I wish there is an option to select a rectangular area to enlarge.

If you zoom close enough.
Actually if you zoom really close so that the bars are spaced farther appart than the spyglass size, the problem with the spyglass blocking the cross hair is a none issue if you position the spyglass between the bars.
