Hi,
Does anyone run MC on Windows 8? How is it working? Due to some reason, I have to update my system to Windows 8 and I'm worried about the potential compatibility issues.
Thanks
Windows 8 [SOLVED]
Re: Windows 8
Hi Jzshen,
Actually I am running both regular MC and MC.net on Windows 8 and they work fine without having to use compatibility mode with LMAX and MBTrading. However if you don't set up the correct time&zone in Windows 8 you will find that your charts will load only historical data and not real-time.
If you have ATI (AMD) videocard, Windows 8 doesn't have the best drivers and you might find some inconveniences but none with MC so far according to my experience.
Hope this helps.

Some of our customers use Windows 8 with MultiCharts. Basically it should work fine on Windows 8.

There is no windows start button in windows 8 ...
Version 6.2 (build 9200)
Can't send log files because program never installs... after the second error MC cancels the installation and deletes everything it did (there in no MC directory)

Re: Windows 8
Hi gpw797,
I have had similar error in the past and it was due to a corrupted download I suppose. I downloaded again the installer, deleted all registry entries made by MC and had no problem installing after. You could try that as well.
Another tought... when you installed Windows 8 did you set SmartScreen on?
I have disabled it as I don't like the idea of Microsoft scanning all of my executables.
Am not sure but that might cause the error as well, try disabling, installing and then re-enabling that feature if you still want it.

Re: Windows 8
Upgraded one of my PCs to Win8 x64 some days ago, so far MC8 x64 seems to work fine.
Personally, I am uncomfortable with the absence of start button, so I turned it back on (and added some other useful for Desktop mode features as well) with Start8 (not an advertisement).

You are absolutely right, there is no Windows Start button in the interface of the OS anymore, however i asked you to press Windows Start button on your keybord. Thank you for the version.
Try to find installer logs here: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\TS Support\MultiCharts or %userprofile%\AppData\Local\TS Support\MultiCharts64
