I have been using MC.NET SE for a few days now and my experience is the same as it was when I was using MC DT. Basically this s/w is VERY unstable and prone to constant disconnections. My broker is AMP and it seems I have to re-install the AMP/CQG API every day, to help lower the frequency of disconnects.
I also sometimes use IB as a broker and often the buy/sell buttons on the chart trader will not display the current prices as it should.
The behaviour of this whole setup is so unstable and unpredictable, that it is simply not fit for purpose as a trading platform, in my opinion.
So, while I like the features of MC.NET and was lookng forward to buying a full version, now, I have to conclude, that I will have to look elsewhere. The fact that I had very similar issues when I used MC DT for a while suggests, that there is something fundamentally broken in how MC manages connections to data feeds and brokers. I suggest MC fix this,. Looking at the threads in this forum, I am not the only one with these issues.

Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
Hi
Strange, I use MC .NET SE (64 bit) from several days as well and everything works perfect and very stable but my broker is LMAX Exchange.
Could you tell what version of OS and .NET Framework do you use?
Regards
Karol Marchewka

The problem is not my end. But for your edufication, I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (including all uptes), Windows .Net Framework 4.5.1, MC.NET SE 64bit 8.8 Build 8590 plus the AMP/CQG API version 6.00.104 and I am running Avira anti-virus and Windows firewall.

Hello met68,
Unfortunately the information you have provided is not sufficient for analysis.
There are multiple questions I would like you to answer:
1) Have you tried running MultiCharts on a different computer?
2) Have you tried running it on a clean system?
3) Have you tried to disable your antivirus and firewall or configure them properly?
4) What is the version of CQG API installed on your PC?
5) Are you using the same login in CQG data and broker connections?
When disconnect happens:
0) Do not close MultiCharts;
1) Send us MultiCharts logs. In MultiCharts go to Help->Feedback->Send logs.
If you want to collect the logs manually please follow this guide: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... harts_Logs
2) Specify the time when the disconnect happened;
3) In MultiCharts go to File->New->Open Order and position tracker window-> Logs tab->make sure you are not filtering the information in columns, then go to File->Export to excel;
4) Paste this path in Start->Run in order to open CQG logs folder: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Multicharts\Multicharts
Compress all files with extension *.log.
5) Please send me (support@multicharts.com) all of the requested information for further investigation.
You can also come to our live chat Monday-Friday 6:30 am - 3 pm EST to demonstrate this behavior remotely and we will collect all required for analysis information.

What do you mean? What is exactly wrong with the price? Is the price not shown at all? Please attach a full sized screenshot of the chart in question.I also sometimes use IB as a broker and often the buy/sell buttons on the chart trader will not display the current prices as it should.
Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
1) No, why should I?
2) Ditto
3) Ditto - They are configured just fine.
4) See my post number 3 above in this thread
5) Yes
Re the prices not showing on the buy and sell buttons in the chart trader window (when connected to IB), I mean, the current prices do not appear on the chart trader buy and sell buttons as they should - they do show on some charts, but they do not on others....
Life is too short to go through all the troubleshooting steps you suggest, sorry. I am looking for a platform that works out of the box and that works solidly and reliably. It just looks like it is not going to be MC.

Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
met68, MultiCharts works out of the box solidly and reliably for most of the users. Unfortuantely we will not be able to help you if you do not provide the requested information. We are asking to try using a clean system/other PC as in a lot of cases the source of the issues lies outside of MultiCharts. Without the proof of the opposite no one can be 100% sure that "The problem is not my end".
Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
As I have just posted in an other thread also, I have just come off a live support session with Roman and the symbol mapping now works. This has also resolved the missing prices on some of the chart trader buttons. I will now test this setup a little more and see how stable the connections will be with CQG and IB.
Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
Well, I maintain, that MC.Net is unstable and unfit. I still keep getting regular (about every 2-5 minutes) disconnections from CQG (AMP is my broker). I have submitted two logs via the feedback facility in MC.net. You guys make of this what you want.
AMP tech support tells me that MC is tricky and they are unable to help. Great.
Having said that, using IB with MC.net seems to work fine.
So I have no idea what is going on and neither the AMP tech support nor the guys here have been able to shed any further light into this fiasco.
I am back to trading with SC, which works solidly for me (and no, I have no affiliation with SC at all).

Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
Sorry Henry, but I am not an IT specialist. I sent you 2 logs today via the feedback facility in MC and given you the same e-mail address I used to register on this forum. As I said, you guys make of this what you want. Disconnections today happened about every 2 minutes, so not much point giving you exact times, and again, I assume you will be able to see connections status information in the logs submitted already. I am not willing to waste more time with this.

Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
met68, our engineers have studied your case. From the logs we can see that the issue is caused by the fact that CQG API sends the status "connection issue". Please send me (support@multicharts.com) CQG logs from your computer and I will forward the case to CQG support for further analysis:Sorry Henry, but I am not an IT specialist. Re: MC.NET IS VERY UNSTABLE
CQG has confirmed the disconnects in your logs to be a network issue.
There are “ping delays and network congestions” in the logs.
Please find the CQG System Specifications at this page:
