Hi.
In MC 9.0 Beta1 (x64) I am observing that there are items in my Symbol Mapping that I cannot delete successfully.
What I mean is, I delete the item and it seems gone, then I apply and exit.
Later, when I re-open Symbol Mapping, the deleted item has re-appeared!
I have deleted some items and seen them stay gone, but other items come back from the dead on their own.
How can this be? What is the mechanism to cause this?
As a point of background, the Symbol Mapping originally came in from MC 8.8 (but has been edited quite a bit since then).
Is there something about importing the Symbol Mapping from a previous version that keeps happening?
Is there a file to delete or a setting to set that would really, truly give me a brand-new start-from-scratch-empty MC 9.0 Symbol Mapping to re-start from?
If I had a brand-new start-from-scratch-empty MC 9.0 Symbol Mapping would I be seeing this back-from-the-dead behavior?
Is the resurrection of deleted mappings by design for some reason (why?) or is the behavior by definition a bug?

Hello MC_Prog,
Please attach screenshots demonstrating the mapping lines you are referring to.
In order to get a clean mapping you need to create a new broker profile.

Well, this seems not to be the whole story. I just created a brand new broker profile, expecting an empty Symbol Mapping.In order to get a clean mapping you need to create a new broker profile.
Here is what I got instead:

You do not need to delete IB to IB mapping. It will be added automatically once you use an IB instrument or if you have open orders/positions for it. That is correct and expected behavior and it is applied to each data provider.
Re: Symbol Mapping - Deletions don't stay gone
Hi. There are many symbols in that list I am not currently trading.
Are you saying that once an IB symbol gets into the Symbol Mapping, it is there forever and cannot be deleted?

Hi.
I ask again:
Is it the case that once an IB symbol gets into the Symbol Mapping, it is there forever and cannot be deleted?

Hello MC_Prog,
That is possible to delete the lines in the symbol mapping. There are situations when the mapping is added automatically when Interactive brokers broker profile is connected:
1) IB broker profile is selected on the chart trading panel;
2) IB instrument is selected in the Trade Bar or in the DOM window;
3) IB broker profile is used in Portfolio Trader;
4) there are open positions on your accounts;
5) IB API sends back the information regarding executed and open orders for your accounts.
