DO NOT INSTALL LATEST VERSION
This is the WORST piece of software I have ever installed. Seems like the program is stuck in an infinite loop.
I am stunned.
I am stunned.

You must only use one workspace at a time.

Dear flipflopper,
The latest version of MultiCharts is a reliable piece of software. I can say so since about three hundred users have been using the beta for several months and haven’t reported the issue you are experiencing.
This gave us the right to release a final version.
We are going to release a patch for your problem tomorrow.

Thank you Andrew.
You can imagine I was alarmed when I downloaded the latest version and watched Multicharts go into and infinite loop switching between my workspaces.
I absolutely love your product and your support has been great as well. This product has come a long way and is unrivaled.
My post was meant to warn other professionals from wasting there morning dealing with a bug. If I read a post like mine I would not have installed the latest version and wouldn't have gone through the hassle.

IMO, this topic is one more strong illustration of why the ability to have multiple versions of the platform installed side-by-side is a critical need for any trading platform that aspires to "mission-ready" status.
I thank flipflopper for the Forum report, it was a significant service to fellow users.
I concur that feedback and iteration on the Betas so far has justified the "official release".
I understand that "patch tomorrow" indicates the seriousness with which TSS takes the problem.
Still though, the fundamental issue is lack of support for side-by-side installations. Addition of this capability should be a top priority for MC 5.6.

DO NOT INSTALL LATEST VERSION
Hello,
Flipflopper is not alone:
I have the same trouble with multiple workspaces although not systematically.
Glad we can have a patch that quickly.
I'll try it
Thanks.
Yves

Hi Andrew,Dear flipflopper,
Here is the hofix attached.
Let me know then.
Thanks.
As a rule of thumb you should always include some "installation instructions" when distributing any patch/hotfix as it is not common knowledge how to install these.
I did know that this .exe file replaced the one that was in my Multicharts Program Files folder so the patch is applied and everything seems to be working fine.
Thanks for the quick fix.

Guess i better download and keep the patch just in case.Dear Sirs,
Current latest available build (5.5 build 2723) does not contain the patch.
Those who need the patch: use the file attached in this thread please.
The bug is fixed for the version 6.0. So there will be no need in patch. There is no ETA for 6.0 yet.
So Andrew can you confirm, the procedure is to
1. download official 5.5 from the website
2. install 5.5
3. overwrite the official 5.5 Multicharts.exe with the one in the patch
So will all subsequent bug fixes for version 5.5 be fix via patches ?
I guess the more impt question is will all patches contain all fixes ?
thanks

aljafp,
The abovementioned bug is just very seldom and did not appear during beta period.
So:
1) If you do experience the same problem, use the patch.
2) Otherwise use the regular 5.5 version
3) For both 1) and 2) - there will not be this bug in 6.0 so no patches will need (in general case).

No it is not reasonable practice. Bugs which were collected during the beta testing period usually fixed by release. So will all subsequent bug fixes for version 5.5 be fix via patches ?

Thank you! Vote for us if you think our software is worthy! ET and T2W is a good place to do it
BTW we did all dialogs resizable (thanks to MCProg advice). It wasn't easy as he assumed since it is not a standard feature and we had to program it ourselves.
